Who you are
- Experience building and leading high-growth, high-performing sales teams in the ad tech or media space
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth as both an executive leader and a high-performing individual contributor
- Brings a robust and active network of senior decision-makers across top brands, holding companies, independent agencies and Fortune 500 brands
- Strong understanding of the programmatic landscape, brand safety/suitability, and contextual targeting

- Now, we’re expanding our advertiser offerings and are seeking a strategic, visionary, and execution-driven SVP of Sales to lead and scale our advertiser sales team
- This executive will own the go-to-market strategy for OpenWeb’s advertiser-facing business, with a focus on building deep relationships with brand marketers and media agencies, driving revenue growth, and positioning OpenWeb as a premium environment for safe, brand-suitable advertising
- What You’ll Get To Do:
- Lead the development and execution of OpenWeb’s advertiser sales strategy, focused on premium direct-sold campaigns and strategic partnerships
- Build and scale a high-performing sales organization targeting brands, agencies, and demand partners
- Establish OpenWeb as a key player in the digital advertising ecosystem, differentiating our contextual, community-driven offerings from traditional media buys
- Drive multimillion-dollar revenue growth by identifying and nurturing strategic enterprise relationships
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of high-performing sales professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Partner Success to ensure advertiser needs are understood and prioritized
- Represent OpenWeb at key industry events, conferences, and client engagements, serving as a thought leader and evangelist for our mission
- Use data to drive forecasting, pipeline development, and performance optimization across the advertiser sales funnel
Our take
Audience engagement through comment sections is hugely important to the traffic of online publishers. However, this engagement usually happens on various social media platforms as opposed to the online publishing website itself.
OpenWeb provides online engagement platforms that enable publishers to bring the power of social media to their own websites. These discussion tools help increase the amount of time users spend on the actual website, as opposed to commenting on content through external social media sites.
Social media platforms such as Facebook already provide similar tools that embed comment sections on online publishing websites. However, Openweb designs its tools to facilitate productive discussion, filtering out toxic commentary and favoring high-quality comments.
Currently, OpenWeb works with more than 3,000 publishers, such as Forbes, Newsweek and Refinery29, and hosts 120 million monthly active users. Despite leadership disputes in 2024, the company continues to expand its global presence and is working on strategic acquisitions to further enhance its product offerings.
