What the job involves
- This is a unique opportunity to be among the first team members on the ground in Dublin
- We know that an excellent Team Assistant leads to better outcomes for our customers by enabling the performance of the leaders and teams they support
- You’ll work closely with our EU Leadership team to provide direct support and to enable them to do more as you are taking care of the details
- Joining the European collective, you’ll collaborate with our existing UK team to keep Monzo running and to continue to raise the bar on what great support looks like
- You’ll also be at the heart of all things engagement, culture & community at Monzo Europe
- You’ll focus on helping to bring Monzo magic to the forefront of a Monzonauts experience, whether they’re based in the Dublin offices or work permanently from home
- No two days are alike as you’re responsible not only for running the office, providing diary support for our leaders, but also new employee onboarding, company events and engagement strategy
- Managing our leaders’ time to ensure their diaries are accurate, free from clashes, prioritised and creating space for them to get work done. Proactively supporting them to keep their plates spinning
- Owning the logistics of your leaders work life and their events. This could look like arranging travel arrangements, planning socials for their team and ensuring they have a meeting room for every meeting
- Supporting important weekly meetings including taking minutes and recording actions
- You’ll work closely with our building/office management teams to ensure Monzonauts are feeling engaged and working effectively to make the office a great and safe place to be
- Supporting our People team to ensure a smooth onboarding process for our new joiners, including onboarding

Our take
Monzo is a challenger bank that fully operates online and offers a full range of current, savings, business accounts, and more. The speed of the challenger banks to provide a great experience has been impressive, and the number of competitors appearing has proven the consumer desire for innovation.
Monzo remains one of the popular online banks, with more than 6 million customer active users. The company faces competition as more traditional banks, such as Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, have launched their own digital banks. However, the new technologies that the company is built on enable it to expand quickly (with fewer issues) than the incumbent players' offerings.
With an increasing amount of people switching banks, the company's ever-expanding suite of banking and financial services (such as its buy-now-pay-later offering) has resulted in Monzo receiving the second-highest net switching gains among digital challenger banks (just behind Starling).
After setting U.S. expansion plans aside in 2020, the company launched in the U.S. market in early 2022, partnering with Sutton Bank to provide its U.S. accounts. After several years focused on narrowing its losses, Monzo hit profitability in the first two months of 2023. In the same year, 2 million new customers joined, tallying its customer base at 9 million in 2024.
