What the job involves
- As our Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving efficient engineering processes and contributing towards growing and developing the engineering team
- You will jointly own the teams’ execution and delivery of the product roadmap, plan and guide product enhancements, in partnership with the Product and Technical leads
- Every day you will run and continuously improve an agile engineering process, be responsible for shipping high-quality products and for your team’s key projects
- You will partner with leadership to identify strategic technical investments and ensure delivery of those projects
- Foster a healthy and collaborative culture that reflects our company and engineering values, and attracts, retains and grows a diverse team
- Run an agile engineering process that empowers engineers with the context, autonomy, and tools needed to do their best work, and promotes shipping high-quality products efficiently and predictably
- Jointly own the teams’ execution and delivery of the product roadmap in partnership with the Product Manager
- Work with leadership to identify strategic technology investments required to support business objectives, and ensure those projects are properly prioritized and delivered
- Partner with our recruiting team to source, recruit and onboard talent to VTS
- Coach and mentor individual team members, creating a structured environment and feedback loop that supports career development and high engagement
- Collaborate on cross-functional teams that include product managers, designers, as well as QA
- Applications that deploy multiple times a day and rely heavily on automated testing and CI
- A modern tech stack that includes Ruby on Rails, React, Typescript, Postgres, Kafka, Python, AWS services, terraform as well as a data platform build around Snowflake, dbt, Spark, Python and modern data pipelines

Commercial real estate is a difficult business sector to plan for, especially for the largest firms managing huge portfolios of prime office space. Marketing, leasing, data analytics and retention efforts have traditionally required an array of different solutions, often poorly integrated with one another (if at all), and decision-making is often stymied by inaccurate reporting and inflexible, clunky tools.
VTS, a leading player in the commercial real estate tech sector, seeks to change this by unifying every real estate asset and function in a single platform. Combining marketing, asset management and reporting functions into a single interface, it also delivers data insights for decision makers to inform their investment and asset strategies.
VTS's user base has grown to over 45,000 commercial real estate firms including Blackstone, Brookfield Properties, and LaSalle Investment Management, and about 60% of the US's top quality office space is managed through its platform. Having raised a significant amount of funding it is investing heavily in research and development, sourcing strategic acquisitions and hiring additional talent.
