Who you are

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Controller and have an active CPA license
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, with proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
- Experience in healthcare or a related sector, particularly with Revenue Cycle Management (claims), is a plus
- Experience working at both large companies and startups (experience working at a big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred)
- A proven track record of effective financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership
What the job involves
- The Finance team plays a crucial role in Foodsmart’s growth and operational success. The Controller will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements
- Foodsmart is looking for an experienced finance professional who can provide strategic financial insights and leadership while maintaining strong internal controls and regulatory compliance
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with the FP&A team to develop financial forecasts
- Continuously increase efficiency of month end close and shorten month-end close cycle
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards while managing annual audits
- Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and monitor cash flow to meet operational needs
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment
