Who you are
- Engineering Leadership Experience: 12+ years of overall software development experience, including at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles building and scaling enterprise SaaS products
- Builder’s Mindset: Proven record of leading large-scale, distributed engineering teams to deliver complex products from concept to launch in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Technical Expertise: Deep experience in SaaS, multi-tenant architectures, cloud-native applications, microservices, and Kubernetes; strong command of AWS
- Execution Excellence: A hands-on leader who drives clarity, prioritization, and technical rigor - ensuring timely delivery and operational reliability
- Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional ability to partner across Product, Data Science, and Design to align on vision, trade-offs, and execution
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

- Domain Expertise: Experience working in or building solutions for utilities, energy, or infrastructure domains, particularly around asset management or grid operations

What the job involves
- As we accelerate our growth across the utilities sector, we're looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the architecture, development, and delivery of AiDASH’s next-generation solutions that enable utilities to inspect, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure at scale
- In this strategic leadership role, you’ll own engineering for AIMS (Asset Inspection & Monitoring System), an early-stage product, and drive the continued evolution of our flagship IVMS (Intelligent Vegetation Management System) - advancing both toward a unified, AI-driven Grid Inspection Platform that reimagines how utilities inspect and manage their networks
- This is an opportunity to define the technical vision and execution strategy for the products that power the future of utility operations - where AI, machine learning, and satellite data converge to deliver predictive insights and operational excellence
- In this role, you’ll ensure our systems are designed for performance, scalability, and security, while fostering a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and accountability
- Reporting to the Co-Founder and Chief Product & Technology Officer, you’ll lead a high-performing engineering team and collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Design leaders to translate ambitious ideas into robust, production-ready solutions
- You’ll also work with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our technology roadmap aligns with evolving business priorities and industry demands

- Architect the Future of Utility Software: Define and drive the engineering strategy and technical roadmap for AiDASH’s AIMS and IVMS products; ensuring scalability, security, and innovation are at the core of every system
- Build the Next-Gen Grid Platform: Lead engineering execution for AIMS and IVMS, integrating AI/ML and satellite data into products that enable predictive maintenance and grid reliability at scale
- Inspire and Scale Teams: Build, mentor, and empower high-performings engineering teams that combine deep technical expertise with a mission-driven mindset
- Bridge Vision and Execution: Partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Design to translate strategic goals into actionable engineering outcomes, balancing innovation with delivery excellence
- Champion Modern Engineering Practices: Drive best-in-class DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, and microservices architecture to ensure speed, quality, and efficiency
- Enable Customer Impact: Work directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our technology delivers tangible, measurable value and enterprise-grade reliability
- Lead by Example: Stay close to technology — guiding architectural decisions, making critical trade-offs, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and innovation
- Represent AiDASH Engineering: Collaborate with other engineering and product leaders to showcase AiDASH’s innovation and thought leadership in customer and industry forums
Our take
The growing constellations of satellites delivering high definition earth imaging, along with advancements in AI, have spawned a flourishing business in ‘digital twins’ for global asset management. These digital data-compilation copies of on-the-ground locations can be used to help predict and mitigate the effects of climate disaster events - which cost the US billions of dollars each year.
AiDash’s various products help manage disaster and disruption, wildfires, and vegetation monitoring. The latter service, its original one, has a host of high-profile global clients, such as National Grid. The company's expansion into climate resilience demonstrates a keen awareness of both its techs potential and the direction of the market - with environmental issues becoming even more of a hot topic in recent years.
The company has done well to prove its agility, which may well enable it to stay ahead of more specified rivals as they enter the scene. This includes companies like Kettle and Technosylva which operate in the predictive climate analytics space. AiDash's comparatively diverse offering should help it retain a competitive edge, as, off the back of an oversubscribed $50 million in Series C, it prepares for heightened global expansion efforts.
