Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a results-driven Director Of Business Development with a strong background in the SMB ecosystem
- Experience: 7+ years in partnerships or business development within the SMB space with evidence of successfully identifying partnership opportunities that have monetized at scale
- Proven track record of building high-impact strategic partnerships, and closing large partnership deals in the SMB ecosystem
- Hands-on experience in business development, partnerships, and GTM strategy execution
- Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills, with the ability to structure complex partnerships
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments (preferably within a fintech startup)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

What the job involves
- Lili is looking for a Director Of Business Development to join our team
- Partnership Strategy Development: Create and execute a scalable partnership strategy to integrate Lili’s solutions into SaaS or financial platforms
- Product Conceptualization: Collaborate with internal product, marketing, engineering, and compliance teams to build a shared vision with partners on the embedded financial solutions and product distribution tactics
- Innovation Research: Drive innovation through identifying trends in the SMB space and harness those trends to find growth opportunities
- Negotiation & Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations, ensuring win-win agreements for all parties involved
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all partnerships comply with regulatory requirements and align with risk management policies
- Maintain strong relationships with key partners and industry stakeholders
- Travel as needed to partner’s sites, industry events, and key market locations to strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities
- This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing fintech startup and shape its revenue trajectory

While competition amongst neobanks for SMBs is heating up, Lili is attempting to one-up the rest by bringing banking services, tax optimization, and accounting into one app. The company predominantly targets sole proprietors and freelancers, who are pushed for time and often lack the resources to effectively manage their financials on top of carrying out their core work.
This laser-focus on freelancers should prove to be a smart move, with the number of freelance workers on the rise. Lili has grown extraordinarily already, and secured major funding to scale its US operations. It continues to solidify its offering, with the release of new accounting capabilities and the recent launch of "Lili AI" that will deliver heightened efficiency and decision-making to the platform.
