Role
Who you are
- Proficiency in programming in Java, Kotlin or Both
- Natural ability to identify great solutions to ever-arising challenges, and act on them in a timely manner
- Proactive mindset and ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience with building scalable solutions
- Enjoys actively participating in a cross-functional product team
- Takes pride in writing quality code
- Preferably experience with REST API calls
- Relevant degree in software engineering
What the job involves
- We are looking for an Android Software Engineer to be a part of our Product Teams that define, build and deliver our product features
- Working in a product team means you will work towards specific outcomes with the freedom and responsibility to figure out the best route to achieve them together with the other Engineers and Product members of the Team
- Your mission will be to help refine, design, implement, deliver and maintain various product features. You will be one of several developers, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will bring your knowledge and expertise to the table
- You will work to deliver an international top-class product, ensuring quality, maintainability, and sustainability. Supported by more experienced colleagues who will guide, train and encourage you to push limits, and improve
- Develop new features, whilst maintaining and improving existing code for the Retail Technologies Solution
- Release new versions and continuously monitor app performance and detect areas for improvement
- Keeping user experience at the forefront of your work, at all times
- Strive to deliver top-class international products with maximum quality, maintainability and scalability
- Actively participate in your team’s agile development processes with a continuous improvement mindset

Our take
With more than one-third of food wasted in shops and restaurants, tonnes of otherwise quality goods are unnecessarily lost. Too Good To Go connects customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold, surplus food, offering steep discounts. Through this, businesses can sell surplus meals that would've otherwise gone to waste, and the environment wins as no food is wasted.
The company has certainly found its niche with sustainability-conscious consumers (a group that is growing in size as environmentally-focused consumers get more spending power). Too Good To Go's app has over 90M users across 18 countries and 215,000+ partners including retailers, hotels and restaurants such as ALDI, Carrefour, Accor and YO! Sushi.
The company is also creating a food waste movement website intended to be an informative source of knowledge regarding the issue. This is part of a wider strategy at raising awareness of the food waste problem, to get more users on board and further help the planet.
