Role
Who you are
- At least 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with significant experience in full-stack development
- Strong proficiency in Python/Django for backend development
- Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, and a solid understanding of ES6 features
- In-depth knowledge of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, or similar) and test-driven development (TDD)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3)
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of web security best practices and common vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF)
- Experience with prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Zeplin
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Healthcare related experience is a plus
- Knowledge or equivalent experience working in environments handling sensitive data (ex PHI in healthcare)
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our team
- As a full-stack engineer with a strong focus on software design skills, testability, and CI/CD automation, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our applications
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our software environments, contributing to both backend and frontend development using Python/Django and modern front-end stacks like React
- Design, develop, and maintain both backend and frontend components of our applications using Python/Django and React
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code following best practices
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes
- Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards to maintain high code quality
- Implement front-end monitoring and performance tools
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our applications are current
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- This role will temporarily report to the SVP Engineering, Rehan Chawd
