Who you are
- The successful candidate will possess strong data analysis and manipulation skills, attention to detail, organization, and excellent communication
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data analytics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role (e.g., data analyst, data-driven customer success, or marketing)
- Proven analytical skills, including the ability to translate complex data requests into clear reports and visualizations
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with R or Python is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze ideas, ask insightful questions, and make sound decisions aligned with company needs and values
- Experience managing confidential customer data
What the job involves
- IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is looking for a Customer Data Specialist
- This role will support key accounts by providing data-driven insights to optimize IXL's implementation and benefits within schools and districts. #LI-CC1
- Collaborating with Account Management, you will identify and fulfill the data requirements of our high-priority customers
- This involves creating custom reports that effectively communicate IXL's impact on student and school performance
- Collect and analyze data from strategic district accounts to generate custom reports that illuminate IXL usage, student growth, and overall progress
- Develop a deep understanding of IXL's databases and refine processes for custom data reporting, collaborating with the Engineering team on intricate data requests
- Partner with Marketing and Product teams to align customer reports with IXL's product messaging and brand identity

IXL Learning has been creating software solutions for education since the late 90s and claims to have more than 13 million students using its service. The personalized learning platform has grown and developed since the late 90s internet boom and become more responsive and tailored to each of its students' needs.
This evolution has been achieved through breakthroughs in analytics software as well as numerous lucrative acquisitions by IXL. These buyouts have included Rosetta Stone, one of the global leading language learning platforms, Education.com and Vocabulary.com. IXL also facilitates Wyzant, the largest tutoring network in the US, and ABCya, which has published more than 300 educational computer games.
With a vast internet network of companies under its belt, IXL is still investing in innovation in the 2020s. In 2022, it acquired Curiosity Media which is responsible for Fluencia. This Spanish language learning app uses neuroscience research to perfect the learning of the Spanish language, exemplifying how IXL has grown from a revolutionary online learning platform to a multi-pronged investor in education. That being said, it still releases its own groundbreaking products such as the IXL Math "Takeoff" platform, a personalised whole-class instruction resource for teachers.
