Who you are

Knowledge of cloud infrastructures: GCP is a must
Proven experience in data engineering; industry knowledge in Insurance or Financial Services is a plus
Holistic understanding of the data lifecycle: from creating & storing, to cleansing and aggregation, to data modelling and analytics and target-related, customised delivery
Ability to build and optimise data warehouses and complex SQL queries (Expert fluency in SQL required)
Knowledge in Python and Terraform is good to have
Strong analytical skills and architectural abilities to select the right tools, methods and frameworks for the right use case
Ability to implement data engineering best-practices (agile methodologies, unit testing, and data validations, code reviews, and knowledge sharing, data governance)
Great communication skills, both verbal and written, in English is a must; German language skills are a bonus
Curiosity and an always learning mindset
Experience with tools similar to: Matillion, Rivery, DBT, Airflow, Great Expectations - preferred
Bring in your knowledge of warehousing, ETL, training, validation, model deployment, and monitoring

What the job involves

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our data infrastructure
You will work closely with our Engineering team and other stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that meet our business needs
You will also be responsible for ensuring that our data is accurate, reliable, and secure
Working with a modern data stack and analytical database (GCP, Big Query)
Build and maintain robust cloud-based data pipelines & design and create models within the data warehouse, providing a stable and reliable data infrastructure
Work with structured and semi-structured data from different heterogeneous data sources/sinks (SQL, DynamoDB)
Defining and implementing metrics in conjunction with various departments
