Many companies today employ a multi-cloud business strategy, however, companies have then had to rely on cloud vendors to manage each individual cloud space, as there wasn’t a single tool for managing it all. Upbound built the first open-source, multi-cloud, single API management tool, Crossplane.
The company simplifies the operating environment for developers by allowing users to pick and choose the cloud vendors they want to use (i.e. Microsoft, Google, Elastic, Snowflake, etc.) and manage all of them from a single API. Not only is the platform gaining traction with users, but major vendors including AWS, Azure, Equinix, and IBM are building integrations specifically for Crossplane.
The company is using its Altimeter Capital-led funding from 2021 to enhance its global go-to-market capabilities, and product development, and expand its service and support teams. Upbound enables a new level of automation across cloud environments and is well-positioned to be the main convergence point for cloud infrastructure.
