- Proven experience in SaaS sales, ideally within the data analytics, database, or developer tooling space

- We're a team of curious, driven, and thoughtful folks who believe simplicity can be powerful—and that selling software should be just as magical as building it
- As we grow, we’re looking for an Account Executive who brings a mix of grit, coachability, and industry savvy to help drive adoption and revenue
- If you're someone who knows the ins and outs of the data analytics or database space and loves helping customers solve hard problems with elegant solutions, you might be just the duck we're looking for
- Drive new revenue: Prospect, engage, and close new business across a mix of inbound and outbound opportunities
- Own the full sales cycle: From first touch to signed contract, you’ll guide prospects through the buying process and ensure they feel the value of MotherDuck at every step
- Understand the problem space: You’ll connect with data engineers, analysts, and decision-makers to understand their challenges and communicate how we solve them—clearly and convincingly
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with product, marketing, and customer success to share feedback, align on messaging, and continuously improve how we go to market
- Contribute to the playbook: Help refine sales strategies, positioning, and processes so we can scale efficiently (and delightfully)
- Build relationships, not just pipeline: Focus on long-term partnerships and helping customers get the most value out of their data
Our take
In the increasingly complex landscape of data analytics, the challenges faced in managing and extracting meaningful insights from large datasets are on the rise. Conventional approaches, often involving distributed architectures and petabyte-scale data solutions, can be cumbersome, expensive, and less user-friendly for the majority of users who do not operate at such a large scale.
MotherDuck, recognizing this issue, has emerged as a solution provider with its serverless, user-friendly data analytics platform. Leveraging the power of the open-source database DuckDB, MotherDuck aims to simplify the scale-up approach to SQL analytics, offering a faster, more cost-effective alternative for the 95% of analysts who do not require petabyte-scale data solutions.
Having secured funding in 2023, the company is now well-positioned to further enhance its platform and expand its user base. As MotherDuck continues to collaborate closely with the DuckDB team and integrate user feedback for enhancements, the company is also poised to play a pivotal role in the evolution of serverless data analytics.
