Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in People & Culture or Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong generalist HR knowledge with experience across key functional areas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; you know how to influence and inspire others
- A hands-on professional with a structured, strategic mindset
- Passion for culture, people, and continuous improvement
- Preferably highly proficient in German (Native Level) and fluent in English
- Coaching is a plus
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior People & Culture Manager, part-time (>30 hrs) or fulltime, who continues building up the HR department and bringing it to the next level
- We are looking for someone with seniority who can guide through the entire employee journey, provide guidance for employees and management, but also for someone who likes to work hands-on within a small team
- This is a dual-role opportunity that combines strategic People & Culture leadership with hands-on responsibility for the daily operations and atmosphere of our physical workspace
- You’ll drive HR initiatives while ensuring our office environment reflects and supports our culture, productivity, and values
- Lead and inspire our small team (1 direct report), fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
- Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders and managers on all HR-related topics
- Lead and execute key People & Culture initiatives (e.g. performance reviews, engagement surveys, learning and development programs)
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies
- Act as a change agent for organizational development and transformation
- Support payroll preparation in coordination with finance or external providers
- Oversee recruiting and ensure that our processes in recruiting run smoothly
Our take
Plantix’s app helps family farmers and small farming enterprises achieve higher yields, conduct crop diagnoses with experts, and access a global social network of farmers. The company turns a profit by offering corporate packages, partnering with goods manufacturers, as well as selling diagnostic data about the spread of disease and smallholder farming to companies like BASF.
The service is, perhaps unsurprisingly, proving to be a runaway success for its millions of users. It works especially well in India, where there is a marked shortfall in advisory support for smaller farmsteads, and where online information may not be available in the necessary regional dialects.
Plantix is planning to bring users from other parts of the world onto their service, although they may be limited geographically by what expansions would yield the most saleable data. Certainly, they are doing remarkable work, and they may begin to see increased global uptake if predictions about small farming being more sustainable come good.
