Role
Who you are
- 3-5 years of experience selling B2B enterprise technology with someone who is a hungry up-and-comer and wants to grow with a hot startup
- Ideally has sold to IT with Infrastructure knowledge and / or Open Source and database is a plus
- Has IT/Enterprise Architecture/Business Rolodex in the patch they currently reside
- Goal-oriented, with a track record of overachievement (President’s Club, Rep of the Quarter/Year, etc.)
- Driven, possessing a strong desire to grow and learn as a key contributor in a Series C startup
- Open to feedback and coaching as you hold yourself accountable
- Excellent analytical and communication skills as well as an attention to detail necessary to create compelling ROI and value propositions
- Intelligent, having an aptitude to learn quickly to establish credibility and to creatively apply the ScyllaDB solution to an expanding set of customer use cases
- Is a team player and understands collaboration
- Is not afraid to knock down doors and knows pipeline generation is paramount to over-achievement and success
What the job involves
- We seek a talented, high-performing / high-energy Account Executive to formulate and execute a sales strategy that results in revenue growth and new Customer acquisition
- Collaborating with the Sales Development Representative and Solutions Architect teams, you will prepare account strategies and plans and constantly initiate new contacts through phone outreach, social networking, and email campaigns to increase our customer base
- Consistently identify, prospect, qualify, and develop your sales pipeline through outreach strategies and by collaborating with your SDR team
- Build and nurture effective relationships as you guide prospects through a software acquisition cycle, from discovery through Proof-of-Concept and then contract negotiation and close, working with multiple stakeholders
- Create proposals that address customer needs that inspire them to become ScyllaDB Enterprise and ScyllaDB Cloud customers
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date forecast and funnel as you exceed your monthly, quarterly, and annual quota
- Hunter mentality and knows how to open new doors via phone calls emails etc
- Collaborate with Marketing to conduct seminars, trade shows, and other marketing-related events
- Communicate and collaborate with your VP of Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure the adoption, retention, and expansion of ScyllaDB in your growing portfolio of highly visible clients
Our take
SaaS databases are essential services for enterprises to manage their data, but past solutions run on expensive physical hardware that is restricted in terms of processing power. Recent cloud-based NoSQL alternatives such as Amazon's DynamoDB present better solutions for big-data enterprises, but the available options are expensive and not as efficient as they could be.
ScyllaDB provides an open-source NoSQL database that provides a faster, cheaper, and more resource-efficient alternative to existing cloud-based databases. The service uses a node-sharded design that allows each processor core of a computer to handle a different subset of data, providing a storage-efficient real-time database solution for big-data enterprises.
The company has taken a fierce stance against their competition by providing a migration tool that automatically allows DynamoDB users to switch to the significantly cheaper ScyllaDB. This can be done with minimal code changes, encouraging more businesses to make the shift, and in turn broadening ScyllaDB's footprint.
