Role

Who you are

  • Have you got the drive? You’ll be working across a portfolio of prospective clients, attending meetings, presenting insight and capabilities, and maximising opportunities. You’ll need energy and enthusiasm
  • Sales focused. You’ll be laser focused on your client portfolio and how to develop their growing relationship both in our team and across the wider team; you will need to be both proactive and undaunted by knock-backs
  • Can you build great relationships? You’ll need to establish a rapport with your prospective client to sell in the need and solution when the time is right
  • Collaborative individuals needed - We’re looking for great teammates – you’ll need to collaborate with consultants internally to help devise high value solutions for clients and you will need to work with client teams to find opportunities with their clients
  • You’ll be excellent at communicating our benefits. You’ll become an authority on the Worldpanel Plus capability, understanding and articulating its benefits to help promote the service to our client base and contribute to refining our sales material
  • You’ll bring the right attitude. We’re looking for people with positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a passion to succeed against set business targets and someone who actively seeks out new opportunities and takes ownership of a portfolio of clients
  • You’ll need to be resilient. Worldpanel Plus is in its early stages. The product is developing and as such the data is still evolving. Thus you will need to adaptable, creative, calm and resilient to help get the most out of the product for our clients
  • You’ll need to be data literate. Worldpanel Plus is our first venture into many new categories so we need someone who is happy talking to clients about data and seeking their feedback to help evolve the service to satisfy their needs

What the job involves

  • Winning and immersing new clients into our service. Worldpanel Plus is a new and growing service as more and more retail clients buy contractual services from us. This means we need a great addition to the team to win and set up clients. The role requires someone who can deliver and present insightful projects using Worldpanel Plus data. To date, the core of the sales drive has been to our key retail partners on categories in General Merchandise such as: DIY, Homeware Toys and Stationery
  • Management and delivery of Worldpanel Plus projects. Employing your industry knowledge and insight-generating abilities to solve client research briefs using the new data
  • Account management and immersion within key retailer clients. As Worldpanel Plus grows you will need to be the initial account handler before we transition client wins into the business as usual team. Thus we are for someone who can lead client accounts for periods of time
  • Growing the use of the insight within the client’s business and leading the client through the evolution of the service as it develops. You will need to provide clients with transparency and manage their expectations so that they enjoy the full benefits of Worldpanel Plus and grow their usage of the data over time
  • Promoting the service to clients and educating internal audiences. Become an expert with the WP+ data, understanding and articulating its capabilities, benefits and quirks to educate the wider business and promote the service to our client base
  • Delivering against team commercial targets. You will build and own a portfolio of prospective clients and exceed commercial expectations by looking for opportunities to support the client. There are a myriad of ways we could help, so it means developing good client relationships, planning increased usage of data and executing against your plans whilst inspiring your team to develop and maximise opportunities that benefits our clients
  • Helping to develop and evolve the capabilities of the service. It’s critical that we understand and meet client requirements whilst collecting feedback. We will need you to share your experiences on client briefs and making relevant suggestions for improvements in team forums as well as by testing new capabilities in real client situations

Our take

Since its founding in 1992, Kantar has grown into the world's leading data insights company, specialising in data analysis and brand consulting. It is operating in 90 markets and manages over 2 billion data profiles in almost every industry, from automotive to telecoms. The company is trusted by numerous governments and major brands such as Google, Facebook and Alibaba to provide deep insights into the data they hold.

Kantar's size and reach has so far protected it from competition in the market research space. However, in recent years its capabilities has come under increasing pressure from more agile tech companies like ProQuo AI. Kantar has responded with a shakeup of its leadership team and refocused its future investment priorities, aiming to develop its technology base to compete with newer rivals.

This approach has so far worked well for Kantar. Its link AI tool, developed as part of this move, is able to predict a video's market success using an AI model based on millions of human interactions. This has been rolled out globally to over 100 of Kantar's clients, leading to a 30% rise in return on investment. Moving forward Kantar will continue to adopt new technology and consolidate its business activities to further increase its share of an extremely competitive market.
