Who you are
- Master’s Degree, PhD preferred with 14+ years of engineering or AI/ML experience and 8+ years of AI/ML experience
- ServiceNow is a rocket ship, and you need to have the passion, drive and work ethic to create business impact with mentoring, not supervision
- Proven track record of leading and contributing to innovative AI research and development projects, culminating in bringing at least multiple innovative AI products to market, demonstrating your ability to translate research into real-world applications
- Demonstrated ability to drive creativity and innovation in AI projects
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in LLMs, deep learning, NLP, NLU, BERT, GPT, NLP, and related AI technologies
- First principles thinking, for example you should be able to write a neural network with backpropagation in Python, Java or C++ without using existing libraries

What the job involves
- As a Distinguished Architect at ServiceNow, you will be a leader with a track record of architecting and incorporating Intelligence into products
- Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our AI initiatives to new heights, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies, including deep learning, large language models (LLMs), natural language processing and conversational assistants
- Work with engineering and product on incorporating the AI technologies into the ServiceNow roadmap
- You will be expected to innovate and find new and better ways to replace complex frameworks with powerful AI technologies that are scalable and require far less maintenance
- You will help build elegant architectures that are easy to understand, maintain and enhance over a period
- You will build frameworks for reusable components that can be leveraged across multiple teams
- For example, you may build a framework for developing conversational assistants for the finance industry that can leverage data from all our customers with their permission
- Champion AI strategies, technological advancements, and industry trends to ServiceNow's leaders shaping the direction of AI-driven initiatives
- Influence peers and stakeholders in driving technical, product and business direction
- You will conduct a thorough competitive analysis of various AI products and technologies
- Share your expertise and insights at prestigious AI and technology conferences, elevating ServiceNow's brand and positioning us as a trailblazer in the AI industry
- You will publish blogs, papers and patents

ServiceNow provides cloud-based solutions that define, structure, manage, and automate services for enterprise operations, transforming old, manual ways of working into modern digital workflows. The company was founded in 2004 with a vision to build a cloud-based platform that would enable regular people to route work effectively through the enterprise.
Much as Salesforce enables a company to manage its external clients by keeping a record of all contacts and interactions, ServiceNow promises an internal system to meet the needs of employees. It has succeeded in claiming half the market, setting itself apart from legacy IT service-management software players like BMC Software, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Cherwell Software and CA Technologies.
The company's success comes from two product traits: simplicity and customisability. ServiceNow's IT tools don't require the IT department to set them up. Once running, they offer a single collection centre for requests, data points and checklists, all of which can in turn be analysed by algorithms to predict needs, flag concerns and measure efficiency.
The company has more than 7500 customers, including 80% of the Fortune 500 list of the United States' largest corporations. ServiceNow now looks to increase its revenue threefold in upcoming years and has entered into a 5-year partnership plan with Visa, beginning with the launch of a Visa-integrated dispute resolution solution for issuers. The company is prioritising organic growth over mergers and acquisitions, with a target revenue of $15 billion, something which its Visa partnership will no doubt aid in achieving.
