Role
Who you are
- We are looking for sellers with a consistent track record of exceeding quotas and goals
- 7+ years of sales experience with 5+ years of experience selling to enterprise SaaS and/or restaurant/retail technology companies
- Experience working with executives on pricing, planning, finance, and marketing is a plus
- Successful track record of achieving/exceeding quotas required (experience selling to retail is a bonus, but not required)
- Proven success building and scaling a book of business from early stage to high growth
- Adept in sales processes, including CRM (Salesforce specifically) pipeline management
- Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
- Start-up experience desired
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred). Experience may be considered as a substitute for education depending on relevance
What the job involves
- Upside is a fast-growing company and in search of an experienced hunter that can help drive further growth by signing up new Enterprise account restaurant and grocery brands and large franchise groups
- You will join a team whose experience hails from places as varied as Google, Groupon, MasterCard, and successful startup executives and venture capitalists
- Reporting to our VP, Enterprise Sales
- Partnering with Sales leadership and the larger team to implement our sales strategy and onboard enterprise restaurant groups onto the platform
- Building relationships and selling consultatively to Director, VP, and C-Level executives at enterprise restaurant accounts
- Effectively presenting the Upside value proposition to enterprise accounts, through a data-driven sales approach
- Working directly with our internal Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to support go-to-market strategy, merchant launches, roadmaps, and key partnerships
- Leading and implementing effective sales strategies, pipeline management, and opportunity management
- Building a pipeline and managing your forecast for new merchants added to the platform
Our take
Loyalty systems, vouchers, and other special offers have a proven track record at winning over new customers for businesses. However customers can be reluctant to sign up due to the sheer number of these schemes. Upside exists to unify these loyalty schemes with a single flexible reward app.
While retail reward platforms are nothing new, Upside functions more like a marketplace, linking participating businesses to potential customers. It also rewards customers with cash back on eligible purchases, a more flexible reward than is traditional in loyalty schemes. With over 50,000 businesses enrolled and 30 million app users, Upside has grown into a major player in this sector.
Having secured investments in a 2022 round of equity funding, Upside expanded into mobile payments, growing its value to over $1.5 billion. Upside is moving to scale its operations by hiring additional talent and forming new partnerships with brands and businesses. As growing inflation impacts the cost of living, Upside's product will likely be increasingly appreciated by consumers and businesses who depend on their custom.
