What the job involves
- Are you a dynamic and experience Technical Product Owner interesting in leading one of our product team in the realm of connected mobility? Essential experience for this role includes working with data pipelines and data points
- The Technical Product Owner is engaged short-term to perform a structured gap analysis for a technical project and translate findings into clear, testable requirements that engineering teams can estimate, plan, and deliver. The role ensure the target state is well-defined and the path to get there is unambiguous
- What will you do?
- Requirements Pack: functional & integration & data, each testable
- Delivery-ready breakdown: epics/features/stories (or equivalent) aligned to the requirements
- Stakeholder playback notes and decisions log
- Align stakeholders on objectives, outcomes, constraints, and success measures
- Define in-scope systems, integrations, data sources, environments, and interfaces
- Capture assumptions, dependencies, risks, and decision owners
- Review existing artefacts (architecture, APIs, data models, tickets, release notes, incidents)
- Map current workflows and system behaviours (including edge cases and failure modes)
- Inventory integrations (API/event/file) and key data flows, ownership, and operational touchpoints
- Identify gaps between current and target state across:
- Functional behaviour
- Data coverage/quality/retention/lineage
- Integrations and contracts (versioning, error handling)
- Operational readiness (monitoring, alerting, runbooks, support)
- Assess impact, priority, dependencies, and risk for each gap
- Write precise, implementation-ready requirements and acceptance criteria
- Maintain traceability from gap, requirement, planned delivery item
- Partner with engineering on feasibility trade-offs while protecting outcomes
- Translate requirements into delivery structure (epics/features/stories) ready for estimation
- Facilitate playback sessions with stakeholders and engineering to resolve ambiguity
- Support initial sizing and planning, ensuring a shared understanding of “done”

This includes Toyota's Mobility Service Platform (MSPF), a cloud-based digital ecosystem that provides the tools necessary in developing mobility-as-a-service products. The market for this is immense and growing rapidly, and is projected to be worth $750 billion globally by 2030.
In line with the rest of the world, European approaches to mobility are continuing to evolve, with the normalisation of electric vehicle charging grids and ridesharing services as an example. Toyota Connected is working to develop and scale the power of its products to meet this ever-growing demand in the European market.
