Who you are

Strong experience with Node.JS, including ExpressJS or KoaJS
Good experience with database technologies, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB, Redis, etc
Experience with Git, bonus marks for Git-Flow!
Typically found working in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment

What the job involves

Design and implement new features for our platform & APIs, working in JavaScript end-to-end: Node.JS/ExpressJS & ReactJS/Redux, reading/writing MongoDB & more
Deploying across our AWS infrastructure, including building infrastructure templates in AWS CloudFormation
Maintaining containers for our core product & services - with Lambda coming soon!
Work closely with product managers to understand, implement & deliver customer requirements
Collaborate with other engineers on the team to design and build scalable & robust systems
Continuously monitor & improve the performance/security of our products & services using tools like AWS CloudWatch & Sentry

Our take

Fig Finance is aiming to bridge the credit gap for small-medium-enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets. They are doing this by leveraging data collected by companies that serve these businesses, in turn using it to connect SMEs with global capital.

Finding ways to better finance SMEs in emerging global markets has long been a hot topic, discussed at length by the likes of the World Economic Forum and the World Bank. The major sticking point has always been reliable data however, which until recently hasn’t been easy to source.

By filling this gap, Fig Finance look well set to tap into the large, growing market. They are in early stages, yet have an impressive founding team, with experience including multiple exits, raising hundreds of millions for previous companies from investors such as Goldman Sachs and the World Bank, and acting as CEO at an emerging market digital bank with $500m+ AUM.
