Role
Who you are
- We are looking for developers in the early stages of their engineering career who are enthusiastic about solving technical problems, learning about new and existing cloud-based services, and honing their skills as an engineer in the AI-driven era of technology
- You should have a strong sense of ownership for your work, with a passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others
- Candidates must be available to begin full time no later than January, 2026 and interview locally in our Boston office
- BA/BS/MS in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Software engineering experience of 1-2 year (relevant internship experience included)
- Experience programming in JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, or Go for Web roles. Experience with Kotlin or Swift for Mobile roles
- Experience with AI development tools such as Github Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor is a plus
- Experience working on public cloud platforms – AWS in particular – is a plus
- Experience with one or more of these technologies is a plus: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kubernetes, S3, Redis, Lambda, Kafka, and Databricks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Work closely with Product, Design, and adjacent Engineering teams to deliver business critical features to our customers

Our take
Compass uses an AI-driven platform to smooth out and speed up the process of buying, selling, or renting property. It functions much like a traditional broker, but employs tech to reduce the time, uncertainty, cost and friction of transactions for buyers, sellers & agents.
It's disrupting a sector so far largely averse to tech innovation, allowing users to close deals in less time than the industry average of 30-45 days. Compass is now the largest independent real estate brokerage in the USA, with over 29,000 agents nationwide.
Recently, Compass acquired Anywhere Real Estate in a major leap that cements its place among the biggest players in US property. By uniting leading brokerage brands and expanding its agent network on a massive scale, Compass strengthens both its readch and its techn-driven platfrom. The move add new revenue opportunities and efficiencies, positioning the company to navigate today's tough housing market and shape the future of real estate.
