Who you are
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, including experience managing multiple teams and engineering managers
- Strong technical background in building and maintaining rules engines and payment systems
- Proven track record of successful cross-functional partnership and stakeholder management
- Experience designing and implementing complex technical systems with multiple stakeholders
- Excellence in communication and process management
- Strong mentorship abilities and track record of growing technical leaders
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager who will be influential in driving our mission to build an outstanding technology company
- As a Senior Engineering Manager for our Payables Calculations teams, you will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for our core payment calculation engines and rules systems
- You will leverage your deep technical expertise in payment systems and rules engines to guide teams through complex implementations while maintaining strong partnerships across the organization
- Your exceptional communication and leadership skills will enable you to effectively mentor engineering managers and technical leaders while driving strategic initiatives forward through strong stakeholder engagement
- Lead multiple engineering teams building high quality, fault tolerant payment calculation systems
- Partner closely with product, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to translate complex payment requirements into elegant technical solutions
- Mentor and develop engineering managers and technical leaders to build high-performing teams
- Drive technical excellence through architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and establishment of best practices
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives
- Build and execute on technical roadmaps that balance short-term needs with long-term strategic goals
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement across teams

Payroll systems for the production industry are long outdated, with the vast majority of administration still being completed manually, in person, and on paper. This forces cast and crew members to loose many hours in unpaid work and drives up production costs.
Wrapbook's app helps cast and crew complete onboarding, submit timecards and track payments. It offers touch and face ID and helps users track various filings as they pass through the system. Its position as one of the country’s only entertainment-compliant companies of its kind has given it a strong head start in its field.
The company's product is used by well-known production companies such as CollegeHumor, Creative Blood and JN, and serves over 1,000 companies in total. In 2021, commitments from new and existing investors boosted Wrapbook’s valuation to $1 billion, earning it unicorn status. With this funding, it has continued to bolster its payroll platform and workforce to best support the needs of production companies.
