Role
Who you are
- Juris Doctorate degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State
- 15+ years’ experience (10+ prior inhouse counsel experience required)
- Current member of the bar or able to be admitted to the inhouse counsel bar
- Experience negotiating and drafting service agreements, license agreements, subcontracts, marketing agreements, real estate leases, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements and consulting agreements
- Experience supporting operations outside of the United States
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and work with cross-functional teams. Detail-orientation and ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
- Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner
- Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges
- Recommends process, product or service improvements
- Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
- Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles
- Contributes to the development of functional strategy

- We are looking for a solutions-focused Director-level attorney. The role reports to the General Counsel
- Negotiate agreements with customers
- Develop customer-centric solutions to ensure both legal compliance is achieved and internal and external customer needs are satisfied
- Supporting business operations and providing direction and counsel regarding compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and staying abreast of laws, legislative developments and developing external trends

Axiom's founder saw an opportunity to reconfigure legal delivery and set out to construct a law company to respond to the growing misalignment between firm lawyers and equity partners as well as firms and clients. Axiom has recruited lawyers from top firms while cutting most traditional extra costs, enabling it to offer high-quality services at a much lower price than the wider legal industry.
Axiom received its first funding round in 2000, raising $5.4M, three subsequent funding rounds have followed. These investments fuelled expansion over time and allowed the company to invest in technology, a talented workforce, and a strong senior management bench. Going forward, Axiom will keep expanding its legal professional talent offering and it will likely maintain its focus on tech, as exemplified by its acquisition of legal tech firm Plexus Engage in 2022.
