- Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience with the accounting software Xero is considered an asset
What the job involves
- We are seeking an Accounting Intern to play a key role in supporting the finance and accounting team with tasks such as customer billing, month-end close procedures, and financial statement reconciliation and analysis
- This internship requires a commitment of 20–40 hours per week over a 4-month period, with the potential for an extension
- Assist in preparing and issuing monthly invoices to customers, ensuring billing terms align with signed contracts
- Address customer billing inquiries and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve any discrepancies or clarify details
- Accurately input journal entries and financial data into accounting software, maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Prepare account reconciliations and working papers in a timely manner, supporting month-end close processes and adherence to deadlines
- Assist in the consolidation of financial statements to ensure accurate reporting
- Organize and maintain internal records to facilitate smooth external audit processes
- Support the processing of payments and collections, ensuring timely and accurate updates to financial records
- Conduct variance analysis of financial statements, analyzing month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter fluctuations
