Who you are

PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field with 7 years + of related work experience, Master’s degree with 8 years + of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 12 + years of related work experience
Strong experience in developing machine learning models, preferably focusing on forecasting, classification, time-series analysis
Development experience in the following programming languages: Python, Scala, SQL
Experience working with Redis, MongoDB, ElasticCache, Spark, MapReduce, Vertica
Hands on experience working with Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, SKlearn, Pandas

What the job involves

Nexxen is looking for a Principal Data Scientist that plays an integral role in the organization’s research efforts and is responsible to deliver state of the art machine learning solutions to Nexxen’s Ad Tech platform
Working in a team of several full-time employees, the Principal Data Scientist will lead the design efforts of large multi-component systems and will be expected to make architectural decisions, flexible enough to address current and future requirements of the Nexxen’s platform
The position requires a good understanding of Ad Tech as well as Nexxen’s product and technology stack, and the ability to integrate it with the platforms of acquired subsidiaries
Additionally, the position requires the ability to train new data scientists on state-of-the-art machine learning methodologies and be a go-to person for architectural design discussions
Lead design efforts to maintain and advance Nexxen’s existing forecasting infrastructure which powers Linear, Digital and Cross Channel Planning Tools
Collaborate with other Data Science teams as well as Product teams to create scalable architectures which can support future potential enhancements
Interacts with the leadership team to influence product direction
Recruiting and training junior data scientists
Provide constant feedback to employees, conduct performance evaluations, and design employees’ growth plans
Integrate existing Nexxen technology with the technology of newly acquired companies
Write and publish research papers on Nexxen’s behalf
Write patents on Nexxen’s behalf
Advise upper management on validity and value of potential data acquisition contracts and partnerships, and ensure that said partnerships are providing data of adequate quality, and alert upper management in cases where such contracts do not merit renewal
Interacts with external clients as a representative for Data Science team
Help Nexxen’s analysts understand the best ways to utilize the products based on their capabilities and strengths relative to our competitors
Identify new opportunities for advanced analytics and machine learning and developing projects to support their advancement

Video has been an invaluable marketing tool for businesses since the beginning of TV advertisement, but modern technology has dramatically changed how such content is consumed. On-demand omnichannel streaming services and CTV has provided unique opportunities for advertisers to develop their audience engagement strategies, but without the appropriate technology platform, this can be difficult to navigate.

Nexxen provides an end-to-end self-service CTV & video marketing platform, helping to provide businesses with the appropriate engagement tools to future-proof their video marketing. The platform includes AI-driven analytic tools based on audience data, marketplaces for the self-serving of media for campaigns, in addition to analytic tools to assess the success of campaigns in real-time.

Whilst several other start-ups provide either video engagement tools or self-serve video marketing marketplaces, Nexxen has taken the smart angle of combining both into a single platform, whilst specialising in futureproofing companies for the rise in CTV engagement demands. The company aims to save clients money, time, and operational complexity by unifying where they operate their video advertisement campaigns into a single platform.
