Who you are

Have BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering or a related field
Have 5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on building, deploying, and supporting an enterprise-scale web application in the cloud. Including frontend/ backend, API and SDK development using Spring MVC/ Spring Boot frameworks
Apply in-depth knowledge in Java, in-depth understanding of IO, multi-threaded concurrent programming and modern cloud services such as AWS, Azure or GCP
Demonstrate proficiency in modern database (SQL and NoSQL) and storage technologies, such as MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB and Elasticsearch
Lead complex software projects from design through deployment in dynamic environments. Proficiency in leveraging AI-powered tools for coding and testing workflows, with hands-on experience designing and building AI agents
Communicate effectively and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.Solve problems creatively while balancing detail orientation with strategic thinking

Working closely with product management and cross-functional teams to define Meeting/Webinar product requirements, translate high-level roadmap vision into feasible feature specifications and deliverables

Establishing and maintain engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure high-quality product development
Designing and develop Zoom's core Meeting Web platform with Java using the spring boot framework. Create a secure and scalable platform utilizing the latest cloud infrastructure technologies (i.e. Microservices Architecture, RESTful APls, AWS, NoSQL)
Building customer-facing websites with responsive and adaptive web design principles to facilitate an enriched experience. Drive cloud based test automation solutions and deployment strategy to optimize service performance and ensure product stability using AWS infrastructure (i.e. EC2, ECS, ElasticCache, S3)
Building complex metrics solutions with data visualization support for actionable business insights. Triage critical customer issues and support customer engagement

Our take

Zoom reworked video conferencing when most people assumed it was a solved problem, with services from Cisco and Skype already ubiquitous in workplaces and homes. However, its videoconferencing infrastructure was simpler to use, faster and more flexible than any previous solution, and it swiftly took the world by storm.

Its success bred competition, however, and companies such as Microsoft and Google, along with numerous smaller communications firms, have begun making inroads on Zoom's formerly commanding lead. Additionally, as workplaces are mostly adopting a hybrid or flexible working strategy, some of its importance as a workplace tool is wearing off and it is recording a gradual decline in daily usage rates.

To counter these trends, Zoom is expanding its business offerings through product development and strategic acquisitions. Alongside many other large tech companies, it has battled through a difficult economic situation, but it nonetheless remains a profitable company and household name. Plus, its track record of innovation means it is still very much one to watch in the communications space.
