Who you are

Excellent communicators with proficient analysis, data visualization, and critical thinking skills
Interest in working across entertainment verticals such as film/tv, book-communities, and podcasts
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace equivalents including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior as a rising junior or senior to participate in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
This internship is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, California (3 days in office/ 2 day remote) and requires a working, reliable internet connection and laptop as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Los Angeles area

What the job involves

Hello Sunshine is looking for an intern to work with our Growth and Data teams
Assist with data analysis and insights generation
Streamline consumer and marketing research briefs & assets
Research innovative competitive and marketplace trends, partnerships, and strategic advancements
Provide creative analysis across multiple social brands using various social intelligence tools
Utilize influencer marketing tools to build earned media campaigns, and a refined influencer network
Gain hands-on industry experience, and foster skill sets and further your personal career development
Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm PT for the duration of the internship, up to 40 hours each week

Gender inequality over the last century has led to men having an unfair advantage in representation through film, television, books, and day-to-day life. Many women have channeled this inequality into their creative work, and it is important that these stories are heard.

Hello Sunshine provides a feminist online media platform, shining a light on film, television, podcasts, and other media formats created by women. The company also runs the female authorship Reese's Book Club, in addition to a newsletter and an online clothing store. Whilst the broadness of content formats Hello Sunshine promotes may present itself as a challenge to the company, it has unified its versatility with its exclusive focus on female authorship and creativity.

In 2021, the company was sold for over $900M to a media company backed by Blackstone. Since then, Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Harden have continued to serve on the board and oversee day-to-day operations. The company is focused on changing and transforming the industry, promoting creators who have been structurally sidelined in the past.
