- 0-2 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering role (internships, academic projects, or personal projects count!)
- Some experience or understanding of Kubernetes (EKS/K8s) and AWS services
- Some experience or understanding of platform engineering - CI/CD pipelines, Observability platforms, IaC
- A strong motivation to learn and grow in cloud technologies and infrastructure
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to take on challenges
- Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
What the job involves
- We're thrilled to open our search for junior engineering talent to join our Platform Engineering team in London
- Our Cutover Enterprise platform is currently a Single Tenant platform, composed from a ReactJS frontend communicating with a Ruby on Rails API, hosted entirely on AWS, utilising RDS, Elasticache, Lambdas and many more
- Cloud Engineers on our team primarily engage with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, Github Actions, DataDog and occasionally employ Ruby/Bash/Python scripting
- Learn and contribute to our EKS/K8s environment under the mentorship of senior engineers
- Assist in implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure using AWS services
- Contribute to implementation of Platform Engineering features such as CI/CD, Production Engineering, and Monitoring
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver technical improvements
- Working closely with experienced engineers to develop your skills in cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement infrastructure requirements
- Contributing to troubleshooting and resolving cloud-related issues

Joined as the Enterprise Development Manager in Feb 2021. Seven months later they were promoted to Head of Business Development, and in August 2021 they became Head of Enterprise Development. As of January 2023, they hold the role of Enterprise Account Executive.
Joined as a Senior Engineer in mid-2021. Less than a year later they were promoted to Staff Engineer.

Though diversity comes in many forms, so far we have concentrated on improving our interview processes and encouraging applications from as diverse an array of backgrounds as possible. For our technical roles this year, 38% of our new hires have been female, 14% of new hires were of black or African-American heritage and 14% of new hires were of Asian heritage.
- We are engaging with several different organizations to take on apprentices from a variety of backgrounds. Through this initiative, we will be taking on junior employees who have come through non-traditional routes into tech and we are excited to be mentoring and supporting them throughout their growth at Cutover.
