Who you are
- 3+ years experience in the product design field
- Experience of UX/UI design work for web apps
- Expertise in Figma or similar, with experience creating scalable design systems
- End-to-end product design skills including developer handoff
- Comfortable working as a solo designer
- Right to work in the UK (sorry, we can't sponsor visas)
Desirable
- Accessibility design expertise
- Data-driven approach and familiarity with analytics tools
- Experience of conducting or overseeing user research
- EdTech or STEM product experience
What the job involves
- We're a 12-person remote and cross-functional team with 4 devs, one product manager... and no product designer thus far. It shows! We've been working with a UX/UI agency over the past few months and are now ready to employ our first in-house product designer.
- Our product is used by ten of thousands of teachers and hundreds of thousands of students each month. They rely on Dr Frost to get better at maths - teaching it, learning it, practising it, and revising it. Help us make that experience a great one.
- As the sole designer in the team, you'll own the product design process from inception to developer handoff. You'll work closely with our PM and developers. Reporting to the CEO, you'll have a large amount of autonomy, freedom and responsibility to make our UX much better for learning maths.

Our take
DrFrostMaths is a charity that empowers learners and teachers in mathematics. The startup was founded by Dr Jamie Frost, a math teacher who believes that education is a fundamental right, thus all the resources available on the platform are completely free for users.
The platform provides teachers with downloadable teaching resources, such as a virtual whiteboard that allows them to connect with students and import questions and advanced data analytics helping them identify class misconceptions. flexible question setting and answering technology, and a live game, all with advanced data analytics helping them identify class misconceptions. Students can also enrol themselves to learn and practise independently, including licenced exam questions from UK and international curricula. Moreover, teachers can easily create learning games and courses for students.
The platform is used by 6000+ schools in over 100 countries and has 450,000 MAU. The charity aims to to broaden its curriculum offering to cover the full primary and secondary range of skills; improve analytics and support for schools and teachers; and direct more of its work to more disadvantaged learners.
