Role
Who you are
- 4–8 years in CRM, Lifecycle, Retention or Growth roles ideally in high-velocity D2C subscription brands
- A hands on operator who builds flows, writes copy, segments audiences and analyses performance yourself
- Demonstrated success improving conversion, retention, reactivation and LTV in subscription or recurring revenue environments
- Strong understanding of customer psychology, behavioural triggers and lifecycle systems that drive habit formation
- Deep experience with modern CRM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable)
- Exceptional copywriting - able to write comms that sell, educate and retain
- Comfortable owning revenue outcomes, not just channel metrics
- Thrives in fast-moving, iterative environments with high autonomy and cross-functional collaboration
Desirable
- Built or scaled referral or rewards programmes end-to-end
- Experience with direct mail, inserts or offline retention touchpoints
- Partnerships, collabs or co-marketing experience
- Background in subscription food, wellness, or ecommerce verticals
- Proven ability to design multi-channel lifecycle journeys across email, SMS, DM, on-site and packaging moments
- Familiarity with LTV modelling, churn prediction or segmentation frameworks
What the job involves
- Convert Leads → Subscribers & Reactivate Cancelled Users
- Own the entire pre-purchase lifecycle: welcome, nurture, lead-gen, abandoned checkout and conversion automation
- Build testing plans across incentives, segmentation, timing and creative to move leads efficiently through the funnel
- Create and optimise win-back flows across email, SMS, direct mail and in-box inserts to consistently revive cancelled customers
- Deliver measurable, repeatable monthly reactivation revenue
- Drive High-Value Customer Behaviour & Habit Formation
- Own Simmer’s referral engine: strategy, incentives, triggers, creative and performance
- Build communications that create loyalty, streaks, habits, and delight moments that keep subscribers engaged
- Develop high-impact customer comms across email, SMS, DM and in-box experiences to reduce churn and increase box frequency
- Lifecycle Comms & Retention Campaigns
- Lead all ongoing customer communications: menu drops, product launches, seasonal pushes and retention campaigns
- Expand touchpoints beyond digital to create meaningful IRL brand moments
- Data, Insights & Experimentation
- Own lifecycle reporting: retention, churn, referral, reactivation and LTV performance
- Build a rigorous test-and-learn roadmap across channels, messaging and segmentation
- React fast to behavioural signals with rapid experimentation and iteration
- Strategic Ownership + Cross-Functional Impact
- Work directly with the Founder, collaborating across Growth, Product, Creative, Data and Partnerships
- Influence major decisions across retention, product experience and subscriber value
- Operate in one of the highest-impact lifecycle roles in UK D2C, shaping the behaviour of tens of thousands of subscribers

Simmer was founded in 2017 when Simmy was fed up of seeing fellow students at university always having to live off bad-quality and expensive ready meals and takeaways. He noticed that there was a gap in the market for convenient, high-quality and delicious food, at a price even students could afford.
After achieving popularity with students, Simmy got his brother Jhai and their mother on board, growing the business with a family-first mindset. Its meals are hand made by a passionate team who are determined to extend the benefits of a healthy diet - on energy levels, mental health, and confidence - to everyone.
Simmer's meals are all highly convenient and quick to prepare, reducing the stress associated with food preparation and freeing up busy people's time. It also combines a healthy nutritional balance (with a particular focus on protein, and varying portion sizes to meet the needs of its clientele) with delicious flavours.
Since its founding, Simmer serves hundreds of people weekly, including reality TV stars and Premier League football winners. Alongside this, it frequently donates food to local homeless charities, furthering its mission of giving people access to a healthy, happy life.
