Role
Who you are
- Your background demonstrates diverse experience in delivering high level administrative support, whether that be calendaring in an ever-changing environment, event planning and offsite support, or providing coverage when another member of the team is unavailable
- 5+ years experience providing executive administrative support to multiple VP levels and above, across functions and timezones
- High level of discretion and integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a high degree of diplomacy
- Previous experience with Google Suite (specifically with Gmail, Google Calendar, G-docs & G-sheets, in a work environment)
- Strong calendaring skills using Google Calendar
- Experience working with other executive assistants in a high-functioning, fast paced environment
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the executive team
- Demonstrated ability to book domestic and international travel (Navan experience preferred, but not required)
- Ability to prioritize, focus and organize your workload each day
- Familiarity with Audio Visual conferencing/event tools such as Zoom and Navan for travel booking needs
- Familiarity with instant business messaging app, Slack
- Heavy multi-tasker (email, slack, calendaring, project management, etc)
- Ability to plan internal and external offsites, as well as travel when needed
- Ability to demonstrate a methodical and effective approach to projects and deadlines; proactively communicating progress along the way
- Solid time management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both collaboratively and independently
- Eager to share knowledge and build awareness; teamwork driven
What the job involves
- Docker is looking for a US-based Executive Assistant for a 6-month contract to ensure our Executive Teams run smoothly at all support levels
- You realize uniformity and processes are essential and help guide the company as we rapidly scale
- Manage multiple, high-level, ever-changing calendars in the Pacific and European time zones
- Exceptional travel booking and trouble-shooting skills; on-call when an assigned executive team member is traveling
- Liaise and schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders, such as internal employees, strategic partners, media, and customers
- Work cross functionally with other team members
- Provide back-up support for any administrative team member that may be out due to PTO, including the EA to the CEO
- Maintain a perfect track record when it comes to handling confidential information
- Assist with the onboarding of executive new hires for your respective teams
- Work closely with your execs, IT and HR to ensure new hires are set up for success
- Be regularly available as a “new hire buddy” and go-to resource
- Set up conferences, meetings, team offsites, etc.; both virtual and onsite when needed
- Available to start early or stay late when events/issues call for it (e.g. company events, travel delays)
- Other duties as assigned

Our take
Docker supplies a hub and desktop solution to simplify the workflow of app development teams. Originally known for popularising the idea of containerising software, it saw itself outpaced by Kubernetes. However, the company has identified a problem with the growing complexity of containerisation, with some apps consisting of dozens or even hundreds of containers - which is what it now addresses.
Docker has had a difficult time in the recent past, with 2019 seeing it sell off its enterprise business, reduce its workforce by hundreds, and change its leadership team. As a well known brand and ecosystem for containerisation, however, it aims to lure developers back to its product as well as to take advantage of the growing global demand for app development.
Returning to focus on developers rather than large companies was certainly a gamble, but one that seems to have paid off. The company has returned to profitability and raised Series C funding in 2022, which is cited to fund hiring new talent, ramping up its business, and continuing to develop and refine its product. It's also embarked on a series of acquisitions to bolster its business, with speculation mounting about its possible sale in the near future.
