Role
Who you are
- Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Payable and Staff Expenses processes, supported by proven responsibilities and achievements in previous roles
- Demonstrated experience in effective prioritisation and task management, shown through consistent delivery against deadlines and the ability to manage high‑volume workloads in fast‑paced environments
- Proven experience with purchase order and invoicing processes, including accuracy checks, compliance steps and timely processing, supported by clear examples of end‑to‑end AP cycle involvement in previous positions
- Workday, SAP or Oracle experience is preferred
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail, strong organisational and time‑management skills and the ability to deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines
- Proven communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and build effective stakeholder relationships across all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with the capability to work in a structured, independent and proactive manner
- Strong ability to collaborate within a team while also building trusted networks across the division, wider organisation and external suppliers, contributing to a positive and productive working environment

- Finance & Corporate Services enables the FCA to deliver its strategy efficiently and securely by optimising resources, strengthening controls and providing expert operational support
- Support smooth financial operations by processing supplier invoices, auditing staff expenses in line with FCA policies and managing accurate, timely payments across BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, cheques and international transfers while strengthening your financial expertise
- Become a trusted contact for the Corporate Card programme, resolving queries, monitoring usage and ensuring policy compliance, giving you a real sense of ownership and impact
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, colleagues and external partners, expanding your network and increasing your visibility across the organisation
- Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team where continuous improvement is encouraged and where you can shape aspects of the role around your strengths and career goals

Developed on the back of the Financial Services Act of 2012, the Financial Conduct Authority is a regulatory body that acts as a regulator for financial firms, ensuring the integrity of the financial markets in the UK. Broadly focused on financial companies that provide consumer services, it’s governed by the Bank of England and therefore acts independently of the government.
The FCA is responsible for regulatory innovations, such as stronger customer authentication requirements, including biometric and code requirements for payments, that have clamped down on fraud and improved security for national consumers. The FCA also introduced the Anti-Money Laundering Supervision in 2017.
The organisation’s independence from government ensures its impartiality as a regulator. In the late 2010s, it set up the cryptoasset registration, a department responsible for ensuring the legality of crypto payments. This has become an important aspect of national counter terrorism measures, and exemplifies the complex and vital work that the organisation carries out.
