- If you have a proven track record of either launching and growing successful YouTube channels or have developed large integrated partnerships and are passionate about shaping the future of children’s entertainment, we encourage you to apply
- 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or licensing within the media, entertainment, or consumer products industry
- Proven track record of creating and closing high-value deals with major endemic brands and kids-focused brands
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to structure and execute complex and innovative partnership agreements
- Deep understanding of the digital content ecosystem and adjacent distribution channels, especially understanding audience behaviors and audience growth
- Deep understanding of the intersection between media, entertainment, gaming, licensing, and consumer products
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, both externally with partners and internally across teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and identify strategic opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and drive initiatives from concept to execution
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate deal strategies and business cases effectively
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
- Experience working with global entertainment brands and consumer product companies
- Knowledge of deal structures, licensing models, and best practices in business development
- Strong network of industry contacts within entertainment, consumer products, and licensing sectors
- Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making
What the job involves
- Moonbug Entertainment is seeking a YouTube and content strategy powerhouse to join our team as a Business Development Director
- This isn’t a typical sales support role; we’re looking for a consultative expert who can guide our sales team with a deep understanding of YouTube channel growth, content creation, and audience growth across all platforms
- You’ll play a critical role in developing and structuring unique content and brand partnerships, extending beyond traditional media IOs, and leveraging your experience with brand-funded content and distribution across premium platforms like Netflix and CTV
- Furthermore, you’ll be a key player in optimizing our toy client partnerships, transforming them from one-off projects into long-term, strategic business relationships that cross all business lines
- Your responsibilities will also include driving the growth of our production services business and exploring innovative formats in gaming and audio to expand our content and brand partnership offerings
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on securing high-value partnerships with endemic brands across multiple territories
- Be a consultative expert to the wider sales organization and structure ground-breaking, innovative content deals and partnerships across existing endemic and non-endemic companies
- Structure, negotiate, and close complex partnership agreements, including licensing, co-branded initiatives, and integrated marketing deals
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key endemic partners, including toy companies, gaming companies, and other consumer product brands
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, marketing, content, and production, to align deals with Moonbug’s overall business objectives
- Identify new revenue opportunities by analyzing market trends, partner needs, and competitive positioning
- Manage deal execution, ensuring contractual obligations and partnership terms are met to maximize success and long-term growth
- Represent Moonbug Entertainment at industry events and conferences to foster relationships and explore new partnership opportunities
- Provide regular reports on business development performance, including pipeline updates, revenue forecasts, and strategic recommendations

Moonbug Entertainment is a global entertainment company producing fun, engaging and safe content for kids. With bases in London and Los Angeles, Moonbug’s video and audio content is produced with the goal of teaching compassion, empathy and resilience to its young audience.
The company owns properties including Blippi, Little Baby Bum and CoComelon, content that is distributed around the world on platforms including YouTube and Netflix, with the latter’s first series generating over 30B minutes of viewing.
