Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in digital marketing across SEO, performance marketing, email, social, and product marketing, ideally in high-growth B2C environments
- Familiarity with AI-driven content engineering tools and workflows
- A creative, test and learn mindset, particularly when it comes to testing cutting-edge AI solutions and tools
- Background in B2B and B2C marketing, preferably in a high-growth tech environment
- Demonstrated experience in quickly testing and scaling new marketing channels, with a focus on speed and efficiency
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient with basic analytical tools (Google Sheets/Excel, Omni, Google Analytics)
- A desire to constantly improve and zero patience for inefficiency
- Self-starter: go-getter attitude who likes to get things done on their own initiative
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes
What the job involves
- Checkr Tenant is looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to support and expand our Tenant screening product. Checkr Tenant is a brand-new offering and has shown great momentum with landlords and property managers. We're excited to make our first marketing hire in this area
- This role will report to the Checkr Tenant GM. It will be instrumental in shaping and scaling growth across search (organic & paid), performance marketing channels, web, social, email, and product marketing
- The ideal candidate will have a generalist growth marketing background, with proven success building and executing B2B and B2BC marketing strategies. This is a high-leverage opportunity to rapidly scale new products within a mature marketing organization
- Growth Strategy: Define the growth and user acquisition strategy for the tenant business line – spanning search (organic & paid), web, email, social, and programmatic channels, while overseeing execution through appropriate team stakeholders
- AI-driven SEO: Lead B2B and B2BC content strategy, utilizing AI tools to generate efficiencies across our entire content generation process
- Website Strategy: Collaborate with the core marketing team to enhance B2C website performance through experimentation and optimization
- Paid Acquisition: Define the strategic direction and performance goals for B2C paid campaigns across social, display, search, and video; partnering with internal teams or external agencies to steer execution and optimization
- Product Positioning: Refine personas and value propositions in collaboration with Product for stronger resonance and differentiation
- Channel Testing & Analytics: Design and run experiments across acquisition channels, analyze performance data, refine targeting, and attribute results to inform strategy
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to continuously adapt our strategy based on the product roadmap and insights into what is working
Our take
Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
