What the job involves
- We are looking for exceptional Commercial Counsel candidates to join our dynamic and cohesive legal team at the forefront of shaping how cutting-edge AI technology reaches users, researchers, and enterprises worldwide.
- We operate as true strategic partners—moving fast, thinking creatively, and working collaboratively to support deals that matter. We handle everything from enterprise go-to-market agreements and groundbreaking research collaborations to complex compute infrastructure deals and product partnerships that push the boundaries of what's possible with AI
- This is a rare opportunity to tackle novel legal challenges that don't have precedent, build scalable frameworks for an emerging industry, and contribute directly to responsible AI development
- Structure, negotiate, and close a potential wide range of commercial agreements spanning GTM, research collaborations, policy and product partnerships, procurement, and compute infrastructure
- Partner collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on commercial terms and initiatives
- Help build our commercial legal infrastructure, from contract templates to strategic playbooks, that supports our organization's accelerating commercial momentum
- Identify and manage legal risks while maintaining momentum in our rapidly evolving AI landscape
- Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies and provide timely guidance to stakeholders

Our take
Funded by Google and founded by ex-OpenAI employees, Anthropic is an AI company focused on building a reliable, innovative AI system. While the company is relatively new to the market it has already launched a highly anticipated AI chat assistant called Claude which is set to rival OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Similar to other chatbots, Claude is accessible through a chat interface and can provide a number of conversation and text-processing tasks. A key point of differentiation is that Claude is designed to produce less harmful outputs than that of the other chatbots that came before it.
While there is much praise for the chat assistant, there is still room for improvement with feedback reporting that Claude is worse at maths and grammar compared to its rival. However, with industry giants like Google backing this company from an early stage, and a monumental Series F round of $13 billion awarded in 2025, the company is planning to enhance Claude and expand its presence in Europe. What's more, Anthropic's commitment to "Constitutional AI" positions it as a leader in the responsible development of artificial intelligence.
