Who you are
- Recent experience managing data integration, data analytics, or data engineering software products
- Recent experience working with modern data lake technologies such as Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake and their associated ecosystems
- Hands-on experience in databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), data movement (real-time replication or
- ETL/ELT), multiple clouds (AWS, Azure, Google, Alibaba), cloud analytics destinations (Snowflake, Databricks, RDS,
- Synapse, BigQuery, etc.), SQL and API technologies
- Track record of shipping products that deliver measurable results
- Self-starter. Driven to learn about the latest database and cloud technologies and industry trends to identify technical solutions

What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Manager - Data Lakes, you will manage a rapidly growing product area centered around Fivetran's Managed Data Lake Service
- You will tackle challenging customer needs—replicating mission-critical data sources seamlessly integrating that data into data lake environments
- You’ll be a product leader collaborating closely with database engineering, field engineering, and product marketing to deliver new data management capabilities using open table formats like Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake
- This is a position of key responsibility with high visibility across leaders from Fivetran & our most important partners
- Build and manage the strategic managed data lake product roadmap; set quarterly goals and track deliverables and results
- Prioritize major initiatives to improve the performance & capabilities of your portfolio
- Perform in-depth data analysis and customer research to identify areas of opportunity for improvements
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, product marketing and sales to drive adoption of your portfolio
- Evangelize the success of your initiatives both internally and externally

After a few slower years since graduating from Y Combinator in 2013, Fivetran has skyrocketed, consistently raising large sums of funding, including an Andreessen Horowitz-backed $565m Series D round in 2021.
Customers are mostly data analysts at companies with inefficient database schema, who suffer from a high risk of project failures. Fivetran offers rapid integration of complex data services into cloud warehouses, tagging onto the trend towards cloud-based data systems.
By developing and continuously improving cloud applications that adapt to changing APIs and data schemas, Fivetran is attracting customers who seek long-term data viability. Fivetran also benefits from being easy to set up and integrate into a client's existing software.
After acquiring HVR, a data integration competitor, and Teleport Data, Fivetran continues to add functionality and customers via acquisition. A round of funding in 2023 paved the way for expansion into European and Asian markets.
