Who you are
- Relevant experience — 4+ years of professional experience in demanding, fast-paced environments, for example at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, in a high-growth startup, or a similarly dynamic setting
- Energy interest — A strong interest in the energy sector and motivation to help B2B industrial companies access green, cost-optimized electricity. Ideally, you have already built relevant knowledge through previous work experience, academic involvement, or personal interest
- Language skills — Fluent in Dutch and English. German is a plus
- Amsterdam base — Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate, and open to traveling to Berlin regularly, especially during the initial phase of the role
- Entrepreneurial spirit — You thrive in environments where not everything is defined yet and are energized by building new things from the ground up

What the job involves
- As one of the fastest-growing B2B energy platforms in Europe, trawa is already active in Germany and Austria and is now preparing to expand into the Netherlands in 2027
- For this next major step, we are looking for a Netherlands Expansion Manager who will take primary responsibility for driving our ambitions in the Dutch market
- In this role, you will play a pivotal part in building the foundation for our market entry and actively driving its execution, with the goal of establishing trawa as a leading player in the Dutch energy market
- You will drive trawa's expansion into the Netherlands across the following key areas:
- Cross-functional execution — Act as the central coordination point between the Dutch market and our Berlin HQ, aligning teams, priorities, and workstreams to drive the expansion forward
- Local operations — Set up the operational foundations required to serve Dutch customers, adapt HQ processes to local market needs, and take ownership of day-to-day operations once the market becomes active
- Go-to-market steering — Help define and execute the Dutch go-to-market approach, support early customer acquisition and onboarding, and translate market feedback into product, commercial, and operational improvements
- Local presence — Represent trawa with Dutch customers and business partners, support the setup of our Amsterdam office, and build relationships across the Dutch energy ecosystem
- Team building — Identify first local hiring needs, support recruiting and onboarding, and help shape the operating model and culture of the local organization
- The setup of the role will evolve over time. In the first few months, you will regularly commute between Amsterdam and our Berlin HQ to work closely with our core teams and lay the foundation for trawa in the Netherlands
- Once our Amsterdam office is established, Amsterdam will become your primary workplace while you remain closely connected with our Berlin HQ
Our take
The global demand for renewable electricity is skyrocketing, reflecting the new commitments that are necessary for cutting down carbon emissions. While most companies, including smaller ones, are seeking access to renewable energy, as it stands sustainable energy is only accessible to companies with larger financial means.
Berlin-based Trawa is looking to challenge this narrative by building a digital, data-driven energy provider that helps businesses decarbonise their electricity consumption. With a particular focus on SMEs in the manufacturing and processing sectors, Trawa is enabling companies to make the switch to green electricity and join a growing circle of enterprises committed to the future of sustainability.
The startup has secured substantial funding over the years that will help accelerate its growth. While Trawa is still relatively new to the scene, it's making waves in its mission to revolutionise renewable energy and looks set for a bright future.
