  • Experience using best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness of people operations and programs through technology solutions
  • Skill in project management and effective written functional/technical communications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience administering Employee Benefits programs and leaves of absence

What the job involves

  • NationBuilder is actively seeking a People Operations Manager. You will report directly to the VP of People & Operations
  • You will execute and optimize day-to-day HR operations across functional areas including: people analytics, compliance, HRIS/payroll system maintenance, administration of employee benefits, and internal communications
  • Ensure people systems are configured and maintained in alignment with business strategies and compliance/operational requirements
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the HRIS and payroll infrastructure
  • Partner with finance to prepare domestic and global payroll
  • Partner with IT, finance and other department leaders to successfully execute projects and design sustainable workflows across the people tech stack
  • Lead the testing and promotion of new releases, configuration changes, integrations and other applicable functionality
  • Monitor and triage interface issues with compliance and third party vendor solutions
  • Work with data sources to support reporting and analytics that can be leveraged for meaningful action to impact business results and to meet all compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure consistency, share best practices, improve processes and develop system knowledge
  • Partner with our Employee Benefit broker to manage the Employee Benefit program
  • Manage all leaves of absence
  • Communicate with staff on people-related matters

Our take

Communities of people can have an enormous impact on the success of charities, political campaigns, and activism movements, but organizing them can be difficult. Whilst social network platforms are generally the solution to this, these are generally not designed for such purposes, presenting a demand for a platform specifically designed for community project management.

NationBuilder provides a community project management platform with the aim to empower the communities behind nonprofits, social movements, and political campaigns to drive change. The software consists of an integrated system of tools for purposes such as building websites that track community engagement, fundraising and financial growth, personalized email and SMS services, and dynamic databasing of supporters.

Whilst NationBuilder’s software and its features resemble many other pre-existing project management platforms, it has taken a unique stance by specifically tackling the gap in the market around community management. By providing an integrated platform of tools for such projects, the company claims that they can help grow revenues for community projects which will ultimately speed up change.
