Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience working in operations analytics or data science, ideally in a B2B setting
- BA/BS in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, operations research or a BA/BS in behavioral science (economics, psychology, etc) with statistics skills
- Excellent SQL skills
- Strong scripting Python skills
- Familiarity with operations research and supply chain management concepts
- Strong communication skills and experience communicating results in a way that drives change. You have the ability to use data to inform, align, and lead
- Strong senses of autonomy and ownership
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and statistical skills
Desirable
- Have experience turning vague operational problems and turning them into statistically rigorous analyses & solutions (i.e causal inference, predictive modeling)
- Interest in working and learning in an earlier stage company where we’re still working out some of the basics
- Bias for action and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong customer empathy, particularly for dentists
- Experience with Hex/Jupyter, DBT or Data Orchestration (we use Dagster)
What the job involves
- We're on the hunt for experienced senior data analysts who can tackle some of our most significant challenges in the realm of analytics within our supply chain and manufacturing operations
- Our Operations team plays a pivotal role in Dandy's dental operations, overseeing critical areas like production management, workforce analytics and supply chain optimization
- In this dynamic, cross-functional role, you'll have the freedom to independently harness data analysis to drive recommendations that propel Dandy to become the top dental lab in the industry
- Develop and share insights that drive impact within the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams
- Define the data language (i.e. KPIs, dashboards, measurement, etc) to ensure your team grasps the underlying truth that drives progress and success
- Facilitate rapid decision making through ad hoc work or by democratizing data/self service (effective BI or user-friendly explores in Looker in partnership with our data engineers)
- Utilize your data super powers to reduce ambiguity and solve problems
- Mentor other analysts and help them grow

Dentistry, a $400B industry, has long relied on outdated practices. Dandy was created to modernize and simplify dental operations by integrating technology into every aspect of the dental practice. Its goal is to streamline workflows, making dental practices more efficient and easier to manage.
While other startups have tried to bring technology to the dental field, Dandy distinguishes itself by understanding the industry's complexity and respecting the way dentists operate. Rather than overwhelming practitioners with a complete overhaul, Dandy introduces new features gradually, such as digitizing dental labs for procedures like crowns and implants. It makes the dental experience seamless for both sides of the chair, and to date, more than 2 million people use a Dandy dental product daily.
Dandy aims to build a full operating system for dental practices, offering a "business-in-a-box" solution that allows dentists to focus on patient care while the platform handles administrative and operational tasks. While this vision has the potential to bring immense value to a field in need of innovation, the challenge lies in overcoming dentistry's resistance to change. Patience and persistence will be key as Dandy reshapes how dental professionals run their practices.
