Role
Who you are
- 4+ years in a full sales cycle role, with 2+ years of enterprise and/or technology experience
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with experience communicating across all levels of an enterprise organization (including but not limited to both formal and casual audiences)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate analysis into relatable and compelling talking points and stories
- Sophisticated consultative sales skills, with the ability to interpret client needs and translate them into customized and beneficial solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects/opportunities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment working within time constraints
- Ability to work effectively in a highly-collaborative environment with a combination of onsite and remote team members
- Self-starter mentality with a strong ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Successful track record of achieving/exceeding quotas
- Experience operating sales technology tools (e.g. Salesforce, Outreach, Gong), as well as Google-Suite and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Bachelor’s degree required
What the job involves
- The Restaurant Sales team supports Upside’s fastest growing vertical, specifically targeting franchisees of well-known QSR brands. Expansion into the restaurant vertical is critical to our growth strategy, new market launch plans, and product development. This role reports to our Director, Mid-Market Sales
- Identify and close new growth opportunities with large restaurant franchisees across the U.S
- Develop a knowledge of prospective clients in order to tailor the Upside sales approach for maximum efficiency
- Implement a strategy to gain access to prospective clients to better compress the sales cycle
- Collaborate with internal Upside teams, including Product Marketing and Operations, to ensure a consistent and positive experience for new merchants
- Maintain deep understanding of Upside’s unique features and demonstrate their value to new customers
- Work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, while delivering elite results and continuously challenging yourself
Our take
Loyalty systems, vouchers, and other special offers have a proven track record at winning over new customers for businesses. However customers can be reluctant to sign up due to the sheer number of these schemes. Upside exists to unify these loyalty schemes with a single flexible reward app.
While retail reward platforms are nothing new, Upside functions more like a marketplace, linking participating businesses to potential customers. It also rewards customers with cash back on eligible purchases, a more flexible reward than is traditional in loyalty schemes. With over 50,000 businesses enrolled and 30 million app users, Upside has grown into a major player in this sector.
Having secured investments in a 2022 round of equity funding, Upside expanded into mobile payments, growing its value to over $1.5 billion. Upside is moving to scale its operations by hiring additional talent and forming new partnerships with brands and businesses. As growing inflation impacts the cost of living, Upside's product will likely be increasingly appreciated by consumers and businesses who depend on their custom.
