- Strong leadership capabilities and ability to inspire, guide, and develop cross-functional teams

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, environmental science, or a related technical discipline
- 8–10+ years of experience in product management, data solutions, or analytics platforms, with at least 3 years leading a product team
- Demonstrated experience building or managing data analytics or intelligence products serving financial services, ESG, or climate risk sectors
- Strong familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), data APIs, and analytics workflows
- Experience working with satellite, environmental, or climate datasets is a strong asset
- Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks and product management tools
What the job involves
- As GHGSat continues its journey to build the world's leading geospatial atmospheric data platform, we are seeking a Director, Product Management to lead our team of Product Owners and serve as the Product Owner for the Climate Analytics vertical
- This dual role combines strategic leadership and direct ownership of a product area that integrates emissions data with climate and financial insights to power decision-making across global markets
- This position reports to the Chief Product Officer and is open to candidates in Canada or the United States, preferably within Eastern time zones to facilitate collaboration with our Montreal-based teams and support hybrid work (2 days in-office, as applicable)
- Lead and develop GHGSat’s team of Product Owners, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance oversight
- Build a high-performing product management discipline, standardizing tools, frameworks, and processes for roadmap execution and lifecycle management
- Drive collaboration between Product Strategy, Science, Engineering, and Product Marketing teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Champion customer-centric design and data-driven decision-making across the product organization
- Serve as Product Owner for the Climate Analytics vertical, defining the roadmap for analytical products and insights derived from GHGSat’s emissions data
- Lead the design and development of data solutions serving financial services, climate risk, and sustainability markets
- Translate market and customer needs into scalable product capabilities, focusing on predictive analytics, benchmarking, and data visualization
- Define success metrics and monitor product performance to ensure adoption, customer satisfaction, and profitability
- Collaborate with Science and Data Engineering to guide data modelling, ingestion, and transformation pipelines supporting climate analytics products
- Translate GHGSat’s corporate and segment strategies into actionable product roadmaps
- Evaluate business opportunities, competitive positioning, and emerging trends to refine product-market fit
- Oversee the full product lifecycle, from ideation through launch and continuous improvement
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to enable go-to-market readiness, product messaging, and client onboarding
- Provide executive-level reporting on product performance, milestones, and ROI
Our take
As organizations worldwide ramp up their decarbonization efforts, GHGSat is setting out to empower them with emissions data and intelligence that will help optimize their performance and support them in upholding environmental standards.
The company operates a network of satellites that allow for the high-resolution sensing of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, that is precise enough to attribute emissions to individual facilities. Through this, it is able to monitor decarbonization progress for specific organizations and support them in making more impactful changes.
In 2022, whilst operating six satellites, GHGSat was able to observe over 500,000 facilities across the globe. In 2023 it added an additional three satellites to its network, which it says will almost double its measurement capacity. As the only company currently delivering high-resolution emissions measurements, GHGSat is in a great position to capitalise on the rising demand for its tech.
