Who you are
- Minimum 3+ years of product design experience
- A proven maker — you have a portfolio demonstrating shipment of multiple products successfully; strong expertise in visual design and applying interaction design patterns to solve workflows, information hierarchy, layout, composition, and typography
- A driver — you’ll do anything to achieve your goal. You build alignment and articulate vision through strong storytelling and communication skills. You know how to think on the fly and persist through setbacks and roadblocks and to motivate your teammates to do the same
- A team player — you are collaborative by nature, relish in camaraderie and group wins, and are looked to by teammates as a steadfast partner and source of encouragement
- You have a 0 to 1 mindset — you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, partnering closely with product and engineering teammates to make decisions quickly, learn from them, and iterate. You aren’t afraid to put something out there to get rapid feedback
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Product Designer to help us develop products and experiences for therapy providers and insurance payors
- You’ll be part of a remote-friendly design team, reporting directly to our Senior Design Manager
- Be a speakerphone for the people we serve: discover provider and payor needs through both qualitative and quantitative lens. Shape and share insights to inspire and align the organization
- Inspire and align: Build key partnerships, and communicate cross functional design strategies and visions
- Drive insight to action: drive insight into elegant solutions that meet and sometimes redefine business goals. Form strong customer-centric opinions that are loosely held
- Connect-the-dots across disparate product areas: stay curious in each provider and client work-streams in order to uncover patterns and opportunities
- Build a design culture: engage in and inspire honest and clear communication, promoting a culture of care, empathy, and respect within and across teams
Our take
Mental health issues affect about 20% of Americans, so there’s an immense need for qualified mental healthcare in the US. However the vast majority of therapists don’t accept insurance due to the prohibitive administrative workload involved. This leaves therapy out of reach for many Americans. So it’s no surprise that the Grow Therapy platform has seen skyrocketing popularity since it was founded in 2020.
Grow Therapy helps therapists open their own in-network practices, providing the technology, support, and resources to tackle the extra operational workload that would allow them to take insurance. It’s live across a number of states, and works in partnership with all the major insurance payers including Humana, Aetna and Cigna.
The company is competing with larger rivals like Alma and Quartet Health, but this should be a big enough market for several major participants. Grow has secured good funding that supported the launch of its enhanced measurement-informed care system, which will help improve the care experience for clients and providers and make value-based behavioral care accessible for more patients.
