- Proven experience as an Automation Lead Engineer with a strong track record of building and implementing automation frameworks
- Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to lead and mentor QA engineers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Experience with test data management and test environment management
What the job involves
- The Automation Lead Engineer is responsible for driving the transformation of the QA team into a highly automated function
- This role involves architecting and implementing robust test automation frameworks, mentoring QA engineers, and collaborating with development teams to ensure efficient and effective testing processes
- Automation Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks across various testing layers (UI, API, database)
- Automation Strategy: Create and execute a long-term test automation strategy aligned with the overall product roadmap
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the QA team in adopting automation best practices, providing technical leadership and support
- Tool Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and implement new automation tools and technologies to enhance test efficiency
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of automation into the CI/CD pipeline
- Test Optimization: Identify test automation opportunities, analyze test coverage, and optimize test suites for maximum efficiency
- Performance Testing: Contribute to performance testing efforts by developing automation scripts and analyzing results
- Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the QA team through training and documentation
