What the job involves
- We are looking for a creative, dynamic, thoughtful, and autonomous lead designer for Fruitz
- This person will be co-responsible for the overall product roadmap and one of your main tasks will be leading the design team to innovate on the dating scene as well as hitting product OKRS
- Allocating budget and resources in order to achieve objectives set at the beginning of the year
- As a key leader within the organisation with UX and UI knowledge, we encourage your collaboration and expert contribution in conversations for the business, especially covering branding to help continue to effectively elevate the Fruitz experience for all our target users and audiences
- Overall design strategy:
- Establish with management teams forecasts and objectives to be achieved over the year
- Craft and execute the product roadmap based on OKRS
- Define the key product areas and affect resources to ensure deliverability
- Imagine and build innovative features for Fruitz (working directly with founders)
- Management of the Design Department:
- Hire, train, lead and structure the design team
- Manage and supervise design processes (Data, A/B testing, Branding, technical requests)
- Ensure good communication across all teams (Design, product, tech, marketing, support)
- Operate design teams & Channels:
- Supervise and operate the execution of all product features
- In charge of supervising KPIS post shipping features
- Overlook the branding of Fruitz through its various platforms (application, and website)
- Management and OKRs:
- Build product timelines according to the company's overall OKRS
- Analytically monitor retention, activity and profitability of Fruitz
- With the help of the BI Team and Head of Data, interpret the results of the various A/B tests and new features
Our take
Since launching in 2014, Bumble has been one of the fastest growing dating apps in the world. It now boasts over 12.3 million monthly active users, and is consistently in the top 10 of lifestyle apps in the US.
Bumble's founder was a co-founder and VP of Marketing at Tinder (she ultimately left among allegations of sexism at the company). This would have given her great insights and experience into the dating market as it began to come online - enabling the company to build for what people want.
Bumble's selling point, as it competes with a pile of other dating apps, is that is empowers women to make the first move by giving them the ability to control the conversation. This has certainly proved popular, and is no doubt one of the reasons behind its success so far.
