Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or another relevant field
  • 4-7 years of Deal Desk, Finance, or Operations experience in a technology or fast growth company setting
  • Proven ability to negotiate, prioritize, maintain attention to detail, and work under critical timelines
  • Ability to lead and engage in multiple simultaneous initiatives
  • Previous experience with system implementation, process improvement and change management
  • Working knowledge of a CRM and CLM system; Salesforce CRM, CPQ, and CLM software experience preferred
  • Working understanding of ASC 606 and legal contract review
  • Relevant SaaS experience

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Senior Deal Desk Specialist to join our Revenue Operations team
  • If you have demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a rapidly-growing environment, and solving problems with limited oversight, this is the role for you
  • We are looking for someone who will drive initiatives to ensure we are meeting the needs of the organization, by providing quoting and deal structure support to our global Sales and Customer Success teams
  • You will closely partner with cross-functional teams, make data-driven decisions, and assist Sales and Customer Success teams to close business
  • In this role, you will create scalable and efficient policies and processes, regularly review and report on non-standard deal structures, and play a key role in strategic initiatives, all in support of deal making & sales activities with an eye toward an always improving contracting process
  • This requires strategic, process-driven, and strong negotiation skills to ensure teams are equipped with the knowledge to execute customer contracts and secure the best possible terms for Klaviyo
  • This is a high visibility role that directly impacts cash flow, revenue, and profitability
  • Serve as an expert on the company’s deal structures, pricing, standard terms and conditions, systems and processes
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and document deal making policies
  • Review and approve non-standard pricing requests. Ensure all required approvals are obtained and documented. Ensure that all transactions follow internal revenue recognition guidelines and operational guidelines
  • Partner with Revenue Accounting team to review or address revenue recognition concerns for non-standard deal structures
  • Partner with the Legal Team to document non-standard terms or commitments, and mitigate legal risk
  • Collaborate, provide advice, as well as deal insights to cross functional teams including Sales Ops, Legal, Billing, Finance, Risk and Systems
  • Build scalable, efficient processes and create workflows that will ensure rigorous and efficient deal completion
  • Promote operational excellence, team efficacy, and most importantly: ensuring accurate, timely, and optimal close of deals
  • Develop and document processes and best practices, as well as instill process improvement and data driven mentality across the teams
  • Exhibit sound business judgment, strong collaboration and analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership to influence results
  • Provide deal structure guidance and creative solutions for complex deals
  • Participate in compliance reviews and provide guidance to cross-functional teams on commonly requested edits, non-standard terms, and deal structuring modifications
  • Work with Systems and Operations stakeholders to define, build, and test various enhancements and projects

In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
