Role
Who you are
- We are looking for self-starters that are excited about working in a fast paced startup environment
- This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills and a familiarity of the blockchain infrastructure landscape
- 3+ years of marketing experience, ideally within blockchain infrastructure
- Crypto-native. Must understand crypto culture, its language and its audiences’ mindset across different social channels and media touchpoints
- Understanding of Web3 concepts, trends, and communities, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in accessible and engaging ways
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, including Twitter, SEO and Farcaster
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to create compelling content
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas for content and campaigns that stand out
- Analytical mindset with experience in using data to inform marketing strategies
- While experience in the blockchain space is preferred – having general excitement about web3 and modular blockchain technology is a must!
What the job involves
- Celestia Labs is seeking a Marketing Associate. As the Marketing Associate, you will play a crucial role in creating and implementing marketing campaigns, managing content creation and driving engagement across various channels
- You will work directly with Celestia Labs’ Head of Marketing and Communications, and collaborate with other teams to understand every aspect of Celestia in order to effectively communicate them to a broad audience
- Ecosystem Marketing: Cultivate relationships with teams building on Celestia. Ensure streamlined communications and coordination of announcements
- Campaign Management: Manage and own comprehensive marketing campaigns that effectively communicate Celestia’s value proposition and engage our target audiences. Communicate with designers to create corresponding content and swag
- Performance Tracking: Analyze and report on the performance of social media campaigns and strategies, making data-driven recommendations for optimization
- Brand Management: Elevate and maintain our brand identity and messaging across all marketing channels, ensuring consistency and high-quality messaging
- Content Creation: Lead the creation of engaging content that resonates with our community, including blog posts, tweets and graphics
- Community Engagement: Foster a strong, vibrant community around Celestia and the modular ecosystem by engaging with users on social media, forums and at live events
Our take
Blockchains are currently dominated by "monolithic" architecture. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major chains come as a single package, where every aspect of the chain is tied together. These are inflexible and difficult to customise or scale. Celestia aims to change this with its modular blockchain network, allowing developers to customise each component of the blockchain as needed without having to start from scratch each time.
Celestia's solution competes with the existing model of the larger blockchains, which are racing against one another to provide cheaper transactions. However, the strength of Celestia's decentralised approach is it can compete on fees while also allowing the far greater level of scalability demanded by Web3 applications. Additionally, it avoids the risks of outages that have plagued larger centralised blockchains.
Investors seem to agree with what Celestia is doing: it has completed a combined A and B Series funding round led by Bain Capital Crypto and Polychain Capital. This funding brings its valuation over $1B and into unicorn status. Having initiated an initial testnet in 2022, the company plans to leverage capital to advance its project further.
