Who you are
- You have hands-on experience working with Snowflake (or similar data platforms) and understand best practices for managing infrastructure as code using Terraform
- You’re comfortable designing scalable data models, optimizing query performance, and building and maintaining reliable data pipelines that power core product functionality
What the job involves
- Our Senior Software Engineers lead and mentor engineers, delivering high-value products for our customers and infrastructure that enables our business to scale
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for setting technical direction to enable our product and infrastructure to scale with our business, driving complex projects across our technical stack, and mentoring our talented engineering team. Your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth
- The Reporting & Issue Management team is focused on helping Vanta move upmarket by elevating the product to meet our enterprise customer needs
- Our Issue Management work replaces scattered spreadsheets and ad-hoc tracking with a structured, collaborative system that helps customers log, remediate, and resolve issues efficiently
- On the Reporting side, we’re building out powerful data infrastructure—leveraging Snowflake and event-driven architectures—to give customers real-time visibility into their security and compliance posture, enabling them to spot trends, measure progress, and make data-driven decisions with confidence
- Own customer experiences end-to-end, from crafting intuitive Issue Management workflows to designing and maintaining our Snowflake-based data pipelines
- Partner with product and design to develop and launch greenfield products
- Guide complex projects to successful outcomes, balancing both immediate delivery and long-term architectural goals
- Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and engineers to deliver significant impact to our business
- Set direction for critical technical surface areas, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
- Design, develop, and own new product functionality and/or infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, React, Node.js)
- Work with talented and kind engineers to make a significant impact on our customer base, enabling them to improve their security and prove it
- Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow
Our take
The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
