Who you are
- Care deeply about front-end development and writing high-quality, scalable code

What the job involves
- At its core, Ideon is a technology and data company
- The Ideon engineering team plays a central role in building APIs that are transforming the health insurance industry
- We're an agile team that seeks to constantly improve our skills and process
- We build high quality code through TDD, pair programming, code review, static analysis and documented best practices
- We ensure we're building the right thing in collaboration with the Product team through product inceptions, architecture reviews and roadmap prioritization
- We're looking for engineers who are excited about working on hard problems and contributing to our shared culture
- We are searching for a skilled front-end Engineer to assist in upgrading Ideon’s customer-facing dashboards
- This role is dedicated to enhancing user interfaces and improving the overall user experience
- As part of the team, you will leverage your expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and any modern JavaScript framework (such as React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- This role reports to the VP of Engineering
- Upgrade and enhance the UIs for Ideon, ensuring a seamless and modern user experience
- Write high-quality, maintainable code in collaboration with the Product team
- Have a high degree of autonomy and influence on the culture and direction of the technical organization
- Contribute to improving front-end engineering standards and processes
- Collaborate with back-end engineers and contribute to the growth of the team
Our take
Ideon, which rebranded from Vericred in 2022, offers an API platform to allow for better data exchange between insurers, employee benefits providers, and HR platforms. In effect, Ideon builds infrastructure to power better customer experiences in purchasing, enrollment, and management of benefits.
Ideon’s trajectory since its 2015 launch has been in keeping with the expansion of the Insurtech industry as a whole, which is growing by over 40% annually. By positioning itself as the connecting point between insurers, brokers, HR teams, and employees, Ideon has been able to attract plenty of well known users.
Insurance providers like MetLife, Principal, and Guardian are amongst these, as are popular HR and benefits platforms like Sequoia, Gusto, and Namely.
Since receiving major funding ahead of its rebrand, Ideon has been focusing heavily on expanding its employee headcount, as well as its executive team, in a bid to meet the growing demand for its APIs.
