- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in Culture Amp, Greenhouse ATS, Rippling HRIS & Slack
- Self-starter, with excellent organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate, clearly and effectively, making people feel supported and heard
- Experience identifying and solving problems and making continuous improvements

What the job involves
- As a People Operations Generalist at Waymark, you will report to the VP, People and manage people operations processes in service of ensuring we build effective, engaged, collaborative teams, within an inclusive and belonging culture that supports everyone in doing their best work
- You will be critical in driving the success of the People team, ready to roll up your sleeves to contribute across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding new employees, supporting data reporting and analytics, and providing organizational, administrative, and systems support across the range of people operations functions
- In this role, you will also collaborate closely with all of the functions within our People team and the Finance team to aid in communications across our team and help execute on a range of critical tasks and projects to support all Waymark team members across the entire employee lifecycle
- Run the daily functions of the People team, including the onboarding of new hires, supporting various people operations systems (such as the ATS and survey platforms), administering benefits, and maintaining employee files
- Configure, maintain, and optimize the Rippling HRIS for accurate data management and reporting
- Lead engagement and retention activities, creating engagement plans and initiating activities
- Support data reporting and analytics, including tracking and analyzing people related metrics, deploying and analyzing survey results, and completing required employment compliance reports
- Maintain, improve upon, and document people related processes and coordinate with Finance and IT Teams with respect to people related needs
- Serve as the initial point of contact on People team on a day-to-day basis for employee questions about benefits and employment policies
- Manage tasks associated with smooth offboarding of employees (e.g., exit interviews)
- Provide additional support as needed, in areas such as administering leaves of absence, trainings, interview logistics, and immigration administration
Our take
Over 80M people in the US receive healthcare coverage from Medicaid (a number that continues to grow), yet care is delivered through a highly fragmented network of independent primary care providers (PCPs). These providers often lack the infrastructure and coordination needed to effectively manage complex, high-need populations.
Waymark is addressing this gap by building a tech-enabled care model that combines data infrastructure with embedded clinical support. Rather than acting purely as a software layer, the company partners with health plans and PCPs to both coordinate and deliver care, deploying teams that include community health workers, pharmacists, care coordinators, and behavioral health specialists. Allowing Waymark not just to facilitate communication (e.g.. between doctors and pharmacist managing a diabetic patient's medications), but to actively support ongoing care.
A core part of Waymark's approach is using predicative analytics to identify "rising-risk" patients, those who are not yet high-cost but are likely to become so without intervention. By intervening earlier, the company aims to prevent avoidable hospitalizations and improve long-term outcomes, effectively expanding provider capacity for underserved populations.
Having now moved beyond early pilots, Waymark is scaling through value-based partnerships with Medicaid managed care organizations, working across tens of thousands of patients. While challenges remain in translating proven models to national scale, growing alignment among payers, providers, and policymakers around improving Medicaid outcomes provides strong tailwinds for continued adoption.
