Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as a payroll & benefits specialist or in a similar role
- Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of payroll processes
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct market research and analysis
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems
What the job involves
- As the owner of payroll and benefits, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our total rewards programs
- Manage all aspects of the payroll process, including accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation-related items
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to compensation, benefits, and payroll
- Administer and manage the organization's leave-of-absence programs, ensuring compliance with local/state/national regulations, processing employee requests, and facilitating a smooth return to work
- Serve as the central contact for worker compensation claims, overseeing timely reporting, documentation, and communication to efficiently manage claims and facilitate employee return to work
- Collaborate with teams across the organization, such as People Operations, Finance, and Legal, to implement and maintain compensation and benefits policies and programs
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding compensation and benefits-related matters
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure data accuracy and integrity within HR systems
- Manage all HR systems to create efficiencies and consistency between databases
- Act as the liaison between Legal, outside immigration lawyers, and Outrider employees to ensure timely submission of all applicable immigration paperwork to ensure compliance with all immigration and visa requirements
- Assist with the design and administration of employee recognition and incentive programs
- Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in compensation, benefits, and payroll administration
