Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer in AWS environments
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and best practices
- Strong scripting and coding skills for automation (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with networking principles and security best practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus
What the job involves
- As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the foundational infrastructure and services that support our applications
- This role requires a deep understanding of AWS technologies, a focus on scalability and reliability, and a commitment to automation and efficiency
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement scalable and reliable AWS infrastructure to support our applications and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and ensure infrastructure alignment
- Automation and Orchestration:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to streamline provisioning, deployment, and scaling of infrastructure
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) principles to ensure consistency and repeatability
- Containerization and Orchestration:
- Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes to deploy and manage containerized applications
- Optimize containerized workloads for performance and resource efficiency
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Implement monitoring solutions to track the health and performance of infrastructure components
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal system performance
- Collaboration with Development Teams:
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand application architecture and provide infrastructure support
- Participate in the development lifecycle to ensure that infrastructure considerations are integrated into the software delivery process
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices for infrastructure components and work with security teams to address vulnerabilities
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
- Provide support for incidents and outages, participating in on-call rotations as needed
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
